The Deck Investigates
"The Deck Investigates" returns with Season 2, delving deep into the perplexing case of Ada Haradine, a 40-year-old mother of two who vanished without a trace from her Elkhart, Indiana home on a seemingly ordinary Wednesday afternoon in May 1985. Over 14 gripping episodes, we meticulously reconstruct the events leading up to Ada's disappearance, exploring the initial efforts to find her and the myriad of suspects and theories that emerged in the wake of her vanishing. The investigation takes a dramatic turn when Ada's remains are discovered three years later in a wooded area 12 miles from her home, transforming a missing persons case into a homicide investigation. As law enforcement scrambles to make sense of new evidence, the focus shifts to surprising potential suspects, including Ada's neighbor. Through exclusive interviews with family members, law enforcement, and key witnesses, "The Deck Investigates" grapples with questions about the challenges of pursuing justice decades after a crime. Join us as we peel back the layers of this baffling cold case, reexamine old leads, and shine a light on overlooked details in the quest to finally answer the question: Who killed Ada Haradine, and why?

The Deck Investigates is a well told story and I love Ashley Flowers. Her inflection her tone drags you in and you want to know how this story ends. I have to admit I am a crime Junky and listen to her and Brit. They have great chemistry so I would recommend listening to that as well.
Not worth 5 stars

Season one was so so so good, I really enjoyed the heart they put into each of the episodes, the details and making sure we are receiving as much information as possible to get it solved for the family and Darlene. If I could give season one 5 stars I would. However, season two I felt that the story was rushed, grasping at straws and just overall not a good way to explain the case that deserves to be solved. I love all of AudioChucks shows, I listen everyday. But this season was disappointing, I know that’s it not fair to the victim or to their family’s who have lived with this every day. I wish there was more information, more details, longer episodes. I saw a comment that stated this could of been a 2-parter on CJ and I agree. You could of at least gave Ada the same effort you put into Darlene’s case. Season 1 is 5 stars, I’d say season 2 is a solid 1-2 stars :(

Season 2 was tough to get through. Because these short, rather superficial episodes were dropped two per week, I quickly lost track of the threads and found each new installment confusing and got distracted by other things. The Haradine family deserves more focus and care than this.

Season 1 was amazingly done with great investigative journalism. Ashley and Emily looked into the case, interviewed people, and did their own research to identify and interview potential witnesses, suspects, etc. Season 2 was a long, drawn out and wasteful way to exploit the story for ad reads. The episode drops were 15 minutes with 5+ minutes worth of ads. No investigative journalism was done, and all they did was tell the story. Granted, the story was needed to be heard. But give us a 3 part Deck episode.
