The Digital Edge (10): CIO Morten Holm is making Coop local, simpler and digital - and he is hiring

The Digital Edge

With 37.000 employees, 1.050 shops and 36% share of the Danish market the 153-year-old retail chain COOP is one of the largest Danish companies.

But the core market is in decline: When it comes to food we Danes focus more on price than quality, we dine out more and we prefer to spend our money traveling the world or buying the latest iPhone.

COOP's response has been to make Coop more local, simpler and digital. The building blocks have so far been a hugely popular app, more self-service that lets you jump the line at the local supermarket and a whole makeover of the aging it-landscape.

And this is where our guest today CIO of COOP, Morten Holm comes in.

So please join us today as Morten Holm shares his view on the digital transformation at COOP, why he is looking to expand his it-department and what the future holds for the retail sector.
