The Dixmoor 5

What Happens in the Woods

We are kicking off our collaboration with the True Crime Cat Lawyer Podcast with a case that rocked the small community of Dixmoor, Illinois in the early 1990s.

5 teenage boys were accused and convicted of the brutal murder and sexual assault of their young 14-year-old classmate, Cateresa Matthews. But did any of them actually commit the crime? Cateresa Matthews and her family deserved to have justice, and eventually, justice did come, but it was at the expense of all the lives involved. The 5 boys wrongfully convicted of this crime, Robert Lee Veal, Jonathan Barr, Robert Taylor, Shainne Sharp and James Harden, all suffered at the hands of the justice system.

Join us for part one in our Wrongfully Convicted series opener, with our friends Elyse and Winston.
