A One-stop Shop for Flourishing: The Story of Revive Church

In this episode, we talk with Kyle Morris who is the Lead Pastor of Revive Church in Arvada, CO. We hear about his church's decision to stay where they were and seek the shalom of their neighborhood rather than move to a different (and wealthier) part of the city. This decision led them to purchase an entire shopping center and redevelop it to house the church, several community service nonprofits, and businesses.

Eye-opening!

I have enjoyed every episode of this podcast, from the guest speakers sharing about ministry in their own locations, to learning more about the world of the built environment, to the newest episodes in partnership with the Gorman Center. My eyes have been opened to a deeper treasuring of Christ through treasuring the people and places right around me, and to a growing vision for the good of our city and it’s people.

A great way to learn about the built environment

This is a new subject for me, and the podcast brought me up to speed quickly. I had never heard the term ‘built environment’ before I started listening. Fascinating stuff!

Place matters!

Eric and Sara Joy do a great job of exploring how churches can be an integral part of their neighborhoods. If Christians are supposed to “love their neighbors,” it seems to be appropriate that they also might love their neighborhood in meaningful ways. This podcast has great examples of churches practicing a ministry of presence and shaping the environment to enhance people’s lives.
