Target Audience This activity is targeted toward primary care and advanced providers.

Statement of Need This program will highlight the essentials of functional medicine; defining how it addresses illness in respect to looking at the underlying cause of the disease. According to the CDC, 6 out of 10 Americans have at least one form of chronic disease that could be modified by lifestyle. This podcast will highlight key aspects of functional medicine and its role in lifestyle modification with tips on how providers can incorporate key principles into practice.

Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to: 

  1. Define functional medicine.
  2. Discuss the benefits of functional medicine. 
  3. Discuss key principles of functional medicine that can be incorporated into practice.
