The Farm Family Table⏐Homesteading, Homemaking, Christian Mom

New Do you desire a simpler, healthier lifestyle for your family but just feel stuck in the hustle of busy mom life? Do you wish there was an easy way to start homesteading without immediately feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or not good enough?

Hi, I’m Jocelyn, and I’m so excited you’re here at The Farm Family Table. I remember when I became a new mom, I wanted to set my child up for their best, healthiest life, but often I felt exhausted and discouraged. I wanted to provide the best food, from-scratch, and be more self-reliant, but it felt impossible to balance learning new skills, taking care of my home, and spending quality time with my kids. I felt overwhelmed by all the things I wanted and needed to do, and felt guilty when I couldn’t keep up. I compared myself to picture-perfect farm life on social media, only to feel like I’m not doing enough but not sure how to do more. This was not the life God had planned for me.

But then I discovered a secret to start homesteading the easy way for less stress, more joy, and more time focusing on what matters most, faith and family. What if I told you, there’s a way that you can achieve healthy balance and thrive in this lifestyle that God is calling you to?

    17. 3 Steps to Letting Go of Homestead Mom Guilt

    17. 3 Steps to Letting Go of Homestead Mom Guilt

Have you ever felt stuck in comparison? What about homestead mom comparison? Regular mom comparison, or mom guilt, is bad enough, but I think there is something even more toxic about homestead mom comparison. Thinking that you will never be good enough unless you can accomplish all the homesteady things like growing all your own food, raising animals, never eating processed foods or snacks, using only natural products, having a beautiful clean farmstyle home, eating 100% organic, baking everything yourself, homeschooling, not to mention looking good and being in good health. That list is not only exhausting but totally unrealistic, and deep down we know it but still fall into the trap of holding ourselves to that standard. If you feel tired of not living up to what you think your homestead should be, get ready because today we are going to learn to find grace and press into God’s truth when we feel less than in a world of seemingly perfect motherhood.

I hope this episode is what you need to hear today and that it encourages you so much. I pray that this episode will help you move past mom guilt and experience true joy in your homestead through God’s grace. Thanks for joining me!

Love the cooking tips!

Jocelyn’s advice about meal prepping and batch cooking was very calming to listen to. Seriously! Reading blogs and listening to influencers talk about to how to cook from scratch is usually a bit daunting but she empowers you to really feel like you can start one step at a time. Learning how to be cooking better for your family and doing it without overwhelm is much appreciated!

Journaling Your Why!

I have been desiring to homestead for several years now. Slowly I have grown in homesteading right where I am in town by implementing small homesteading principles in our home & backyard. We are prayerfully taking steps to purchase our homestead property and I found Jocelyn’s story and how she got to her why so encouraging! I feel so edified by her & the God given desire for us to homestead! Thank you Jocelyn for helping me take the time to pray through & journal my why!

I relate heavily!

As soon as you said you found out your pcos diagnosis and wanted to approach it holistically, I knew I needed to stay! I like that the podcast doesn’t have an over the top, influencer approach but feels like a genuine topic discussion with a sister in Christ. Good stuff, I’ll continue to listen! <3
