    Jesus Over Death!

    John 11 cites the greatest of all Jesus' miracles documented in this gospel. The story of Christ raising Lazarus from the dead demonstrates his supreme power and complete authority over everything - including death. As believers and followers of Christ, we have no reason to fear death: through his sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection, Jesus has purchased us everlasting life and an inheritance in heaven that is guaranteed and irrevocable.

    The Secret to True Blessing

    Today we begin a very special series expositing the greatest sermon ever given: the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus begins this message with the Beatitudes, the instructions for living a life that is blessed by God. Those who are born again and growing in sanctification recognize that as there is a decreasing focus and desire of self, and an increasing hunger for Christ and the Holy Spirit, true blessing will be found. We hear in this message how being poor in spirit leads to richness of life.

    Healing the man born blind P2

    John Newton's well known hymn, "Amazing Grace" uses words taken directly from today's text. "I was blind but now I see" exclaims the man when Jesus restores his sight. Through the Lord's healing touch, the man is no longer a captive, locked in a world of darkness but now freed to live in one of light! Newton understood that before knowing Christ, we are blind and wretched, enslaved by sin. Only Jesus can rescue us from death and darkness, then welcome us into his marvelous light and the gift of eternal life!

    Jesus walks on water P2

    We often hear the 'trials' of life referred to as 'storms'. In today's message, the disciples face a literal storm on the Sea of Galilee. Surrounded by darkness, violent winds and waves crashing over their modest fishing boat, fear and anxiety overcomes them as they encounter physical danger and possible death. Suddenly, in the midst of the chaos, the disciples see their beloved Jesus walking on the water towards them and their spirits lifted, knowing Jesus is there. It is through the tempests of life that we grow the most, change the most, increase faith the most and realize our need for Christ the most.

    The Feeding of the 5000 P2

    The feeding of the 5000 is the single miracle recorded in all 4 gospels. Only the supernatural power of our gracious God can explain how five loaves of bread and two fish can possibly feed 5000 people - with leftovers! Yet, as wonderful as it is that Christ provided the physical bread, the true miracle is in the spiritual food that he provides. He is the bread of life - the only one who can satisfy and the only one who can save.

    Getting Clarity on Christmas P2

    Christ's birth over 2000 years ago is arguably the greatest event ever to take place in history. The Son of God left his mighty throne in heaven, to take on flesh and to be born into a fallen world. He lived a perfect life and died an excrutiating death, but then, he was raised to life and now sits on his throne in heaven. Through his life, death and resurrection, Jesus brought peace to this world by providing a way for sinners to be reconciled to the Father. This is the reason we still celebrate his birth today - the day that God's love came down.
