The Festival at the End of the World Doug Francisco
-
- Society & Culture
Ringmaster, artist, activist and clown Doug Francisco, was one of 300 performers, crew and attendees stranded at The Tribal Gathering Festival on a remote beach in Panama when the world went into lockdown on March 20th 2020.
This show explores how it was to be the hostess with the mostess for ‘The festival at the end of the world’. Doug talks to others who shared the experience with him and, more curiously, what happened in the year and a half it took to finally make it home.

#5 The Road to Red Rebellion
This episode Doug travels back in time to explore the origins of the Red Rebel Brigade, a performance protest born from experiencing first hand the gravity of the climate crisis by discovering the remote sea plastic strewn shores of Panama. We’ll hear from other Red rebels and their experiences of the phenomenon as it spread around the world faster and further than he ever imagined.

#4 Where it all began
This episode delves into the origins of my involvement with Tribal Gathering. How did I end up on that far distant shore? When did I first go there? And why did I go back for more? I explore the treasure I discovered there and how would it change everything that came afterwards.

#3 Lost in paradise
Welcome back to episode 3, broadcasting live from the edge of the world. We return to that lost horizon, that distant shore, as the party is finally over and yet weirdly... somehow only just begun. Should I stay or should I go now is the theme tune of the day and planes are fading from the skies overhead. Hear about those who made a break for it, those who wished they’d stayed, some who were trapped by circumstance and the ones that got away.

#2 Who the f*@k is Doug?
The Doug Show presents episode 2 of 'The Festival at the End of the World', taking us back to where it all began. From our protagonist's humble beginnings on the Isle of Man, to his first spiritual awakenings at Stonehenge Free Festival, from whence he returned only to be thrown in jail. We'll hear about his daring escape to the seedy underbelly of the London squat scene on the Portobello Road and find ourselves teetering on the brink of revolution at Castlemorten, the largest free party gathering in UK history.
