Guess the Bass -- Volume 5!

Guess the Bass -- Volume 5!

It's a rare thing for us to have back to back episodes on the same topic, but we couldn't resist. It was time to put Reg through his guessing paces and see if he could get his overall GTB score up. He's been watching the other episodes, and honing his questioning skills. Can he do it this time? He really needs it to get his average up, and Jet's eager to see him do it. It's a fun time and a good chance for you to see if you can best Reg and guess the bass Jet is playing before it's revealed.

Gristle King VS D&M Drive . . . Which Is a Better Pedal?

Gristle King VS D&M Drive . . . Which Is a Better Pedal?

Overdrive and boost in the same pedal is really useful. Awesome in fact. Being able to switch the order of them is even better. Way better. Having some famous folks associated with the pedal is icing on the cake. Today Jet and Jason compare and contrast 2 different Signature drive/boost pedals, the D&M Drive from Keeley, co-designed and endorsed by Dan and Mick from That Pedal Show, and the Gristle King by Jauernig pedals, made to the specs of the famous Greg Koch. With lots of control and flexibility, these two pedals take guitar tone to the heights of playability, but in surprisingly different ways. If you thought all gain pedals are basically the same, check out this tone test to change your mind. The guys use P90s, Humbuckers and Single Coils with a Belle Epoch delay and spring reverb to make sure all avenues are explored in this fun and informative shootout.

OK, this one is a trippy, drippy, does-more-than-you-would-think sorta guitar pedal. It's hard to believe one pedal can create all these sounds. Phasery, filtery, laser-fight goodness . . . there's just no way to describe the "trip" the guys take with this amazing box o' fun. Pedalboard Contenders, Episode 1

    Pedalboard Contenders, Episode 1

Jet and Reg are at it again, this time with a new pedalboard in their sights. Question is, what to put on it? It's gonna take more than one show to figure that out! But they gotta start somewhere, so it was off to the pedal shelves to find some contenders. Two distortions, a phaser and a polyphonic octave machine with bonus goodies sounds like a great place to get the ball rolling. It's episode 1 of the new series, "Pedalboard Contenders". Join the boys for some fun and experimentation as they run these pedals through the ringer for your enjoyment. A Huber and an Amplified Nation amp complete the rig for the day. Things are going to get interesting, and they're certain to be entertaining!

The Car Collection for Guitar Players!

The Car Collection for Guitar Players!

The VVCO pedal reviews we've done on Gear 'n Gigs have been some of our favorites. Then Reg had an idea... A parking lot made from VVCO guitar pedals. It took a while, but Jet and his daughter managed to pull it off. A usable, practical floor board of sonic goodness that looks like a Hollywood vehicle reunion. . . the world's first pedal board parking lot! The planet's most famous cars dishing out some great effects. Clean boost from the Batmobile, SRV style overdrive in the Bandit's Trans Am, Distortion ala Rat hidden in Starsky & Hutch's Gran Torino, a killer chorus that solves mysteries with Scooby and the gang, an Earthquaker Depths inside Mr. T's van, Doc and Marty and the flying Delorean giving out great delay, while the Ghostbusters provide the haunting reverb. Headlights, tail lights, even street lights...this is a complete diorama of tone. Pardon the pun when we say, "C'mon along for the ride!"
