Genevie Strickland - Morgan Nick Foundation: How They’re Fighting Against Sex Trafficking

On this episode of The Generation Now Podcast, Genevie Strickland joins the conversation. She's the Assistant Director of the Morgan Nick Foundation. She'll be discussing their fight against Human and Sex Trafficking.  The beginnings of this organization came out of a tragedy but they're doing an incredible job in making sure no one that goes missing is overlooked. Below you'll find the beginning of their story. Please listen and join us in the fight.

On the evening of June 9, 1995, Morgan Chauntel Nick was kidnapped while playing with friends just yards away from her mother during a little league game in Alma, Arkansas.  A massive investigation ensued, and continues, but Morgan Nick remains missing.

After Morgan’s kidnapping it became apparent there was a need for an organization which could provide immediate assistance to the families of missing children.

Colleen Nick, Morgan’s mother, realized this need and determined to fight for Morgan and for the hundreds of children that go missing each year; and in 1996, The Morgan Nick Foundation was launched.

Jeff Shaw- Executive Director Atlanta Dream Center: Their Fight Against Human Exploitation and Poverty

This episode is an interview with Jeff Shaw. He's the Executive Director at the incredible ministry of the Atlanta Dream Center.  They're on the front-lines fighting against Human and Sex Trafficking as well as poverty. This is definitely eye opening for those looking to educate themselves and unite to engage in the battle against exploitation.  Below you'll find a quick synopsis of what they do.

In the 21st century, far too many people are trapped in the darkness of sex trafficking and homelessness. Atlanta Dream Center, a Christian-based non-profit headquartered in the heart of Atlanta, serves on the frontlines every day rescuing men and women out of sex trafficking and homelessness and preventing vulnerable children from falling victim.

Founded in 2003 by Pastor Paul Palmer and his wife Patty, Atlanta Dream Center began with a heart for the frontlines – always seeking to find a need and meet it. Since incorporating in 2010, Atlanta Dream Center has assisted nearly 1,500 victims out of sex trafficking and transitioned over 1,000 men, women, and children out of homelessness. In 2018, the organization added youth prevention to its mission and has provided prevention programming to more than 600 youth facing adversity in overlooked communities throughout Metro Atlanta.
