The Good - Dangerous Deception

Vessels of the Master

Genesis 2:8-9 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 3;1-6 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. How does Satan attack you and deceive you. 1. He will keep you away from spending time with the word 2. He tries to keep you away from the fellowship of the Holy Spirit by deceiving you into sin and thus making you unfruitful and unproductive in the Kingdom of God. 3. He brings hurts and bitterness to keep you there in that place so you will not return quickly to God. 4. Finally you will find yourself drifted away from what God had called you and moved away from the purpose which He had for you.
