The Great American Scream

I discovered this podcast by searching ‘analog horror’ into the search feature, since I was bored of my usual true crime and greek mythology podcasts. I expected it to be audio for an analog horror project someone was making. Needless to say, I did not find what I was looking for at first. I FOUND SOMETHING BETTER. I found this podcast, and it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a podcast. It’s funny, but scary at the same time. I think it really lives uptimes to the disclaimer of ‘this is a podcast about getting spooked for fun’. The hosts work so well together, Adam and Devin don’t even sound like their recording anything. To me, at least, it just sounds like they’re simply hanging out. It’s a rare time when I can say that the hosts genuinely seem like friends, even when I know they are. I like how they actually state their opinions on things, it’s something I don’t really see often. The best part of the podcast is really that none of the topics they talk about are too similar to each other, which was my problem with the other podcasts I found. Overall, It’s become one of my absolute favorite podcasts, and definitely the most entertaining one I’ve listened to in a while!

I wanna start by saying that Adam is a SPECTACULAR master of the ceremony that is this podcast. Devin is hilarious and often goes off the rail (in a great way) but Adam has a genius level of calm that keeps the show on the road. I am mesmerized by their chemistry. For the same reason that I love other pods, I learn so much from this show. I love how they present information, the sound quality is great and this show is soooo funny. Im addicted. Thanks for a great show!

Update 2021 - 60 episodes along and Devin and Adam are still giving us great dives into horror topics. I am always amazed each week that they have something new to explore and keep us laughing along the way Devin and Adam have a vast knowledge about all things spooky and horrifying. And what they don't know, they do the research. They hold my interest and keep me laughing every time. I appreciate Devin's asides on those particular spooky rituals he does not recommend. Keep the episodes coming!
