    UH Athletics will align under the Mountain West banner with subsidies phasing out, which is a good thing. Yet despite having to foot some bills for the conference, the Big West had its advantages for UH. The PAC-12 is also still looking for a member while the MWC is equally desperate to get to 8 full members; the pool of available schools shrinking everyday. Certainly UH had a lot of leverage and was able to use it - and there is more security remaining FBS into the future now -- but was this the "best" outcome?     Tailgates, New Stadiums and Close Losses: Lessons From San Diego St.

    The Boys relive a fun day in San Diego. From tailgating with our Road Warrior Ohana and the Sons of Montezuma to taking the party inside to Snapdragon's elevated Cutwater bar, one of the coolest features of the new stadium, where the crew witnessed UH drop another close loss after pulling away in the 4th. The nation's 17th ranked team, Boise St, comes to the Islands Saturday with a Heisman candidate leading the nation in rushing. What can we realistically expect from Hawai‘i, and what must Coach Chang do from here to keep some of the heat off himself? We had an amazing tour in SoCal this past week!
