Max and Aaron deserve to be on the podcast Mount Rushmore
Step Aside, Joe
I’ve been an avid podcast-listener for 5+ years now. I’m well versed in the greats (JRE, The Portal, The Tim Ferriss Show, Revisionist History, This American Life, TED, 99% Invisible, etc.) but the Dropouts have provided my weekly playlist with something new and fresh. They aren’t afraid to discuss any topic, but they do so with great vibes and humor that’s hard to find amongst the more high-brow hosts. And high-brow they are not! It’s nice to hear real dudes tackling real subjects (addiction, sex, mental health, music, politics, etc.) with NSFW language and anecdotes.
Aside from the top-tier content they cover, what really makes this show (not a podcast!) special is the all-star cast of unique, goofy and lovable dropouts. Jarren’s a god MC with a tough exterior and a mushy core just under the surface. Kyle (a criminally underrated rapper) brings the heart of an SJW, but with a refreshing balance of a legitimately hard background and a heightened level of education and eloquence. Max provides an iconic high school dropout success story, with an endless supply of crazy experiences that bring every theoretical point back down to earth in the most entertaining ways possible. Aaron is one of the funniest personalities I’ve ever seen on a mic, and never fails to reveal something weird or goofy that sets him apart from the rest of the crew.
Finally, I can’t say enough about the guests these guys find. Every week I’m introduced to a new author/artist/personality that I’d never heard of before, but end up following them on social by the end of the show. Amy Dresner is the realest person I’ve ever heard speak. Natia has quickly become one of my favorite hip-hop artists, and I’d kill to spend a day just chilling with him. And Scramn… well he’s just the GOAT. The list goes on, but you really just have to check out the High School Dropouts for yourself. It’ll change your life.
Raw - What you wouldn’t say out loud
Haha “I can’t believe they said that” basically... podcast has no limits. They talk about any topic current events and it’s not “PC “. conversations and thoughts you have in your head or in private, MAYBE, but wouldn’t say out loud 🤣
