Let Ryan be your guide.

Ryan gives so much to his listeners just from the website alone, but this year I’d like to give praise to the Recommended Podcasts tab and the ongoing stream of supplementary content on social media. One could always benefit from hearing the same content from another perspective. Claude Monet did a series of paintings in which he would paint the same view from two different vantage points. And this is how I have come to know Ancient Greece. In addition to Ryan’s podcast, I also learned through:

Jason Weiser of “Myths & Legend”

Jamie Redfern of “The History of Alexander”

Tristan Hughes of “Battle of the Ancients”

Rob Sims of “History in the Making”

Doug Metzger of 🎶Literature & History.com🎶

Interestingly enough, I discovered Ryan Stitt of THOAG through Ray Belli of “Words for Granted” and then Ryan promoted Ray’s series on Ancient Greece.

Being an active listener for two years, for the first time, I feel confident to informally teach a slice of the material myself. I’ve had Ryan as my guide through Ancient Greece all this time. There’s so much wisdom in antiquity. It’s important to know the history to fully appreciate and understand it. Although this is somewhat of my departure because I feel I am competent enough to go beyond the content in the podcast and explore the text on my own... I encourage you to let Ryan be your guide.
