The history of Penicillin Part 1

The Microbe Moment With The Microbigals

This week, we bring you the history of Penicillin. In part one, we talk about Alexander Fleming, the scientist who discovered the fungus that makes penicillin. We start with his rise through school, his experience in the first world war, his discovery of lysozymes and finally ending in the discovery of the mold.

Much of the information provided is from the book Alexander Fleming The Man and The Myth by Gwyn Macfarlane.
