Welcome to the Holderness Family Podcast! On Facebook and YouTube we are known as The Holderness Family. Feel Good Comedy with Fortune Feimster

Feel Good Comedy with Fortune Feimster

It's always fun to interview people we can fangirl over and this week's guest is no exception. Penn and I talk to stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and fellow North Carolinian Fortune Feimster! Everything Fortune does seems to be steeped in positivity. We talk about her growing up in NC, what her parents must have thought about her becoming a comedian, and how she accidentally stole the show in the movie Office Christmas Party.
We love Fortune's unique brand of comedic storytelling which she attributes to her Southern upbringing. Anytime we see her in a show or a clip online, she always makes us smile. You can see Fortune in a city near you on her 2 Sweet 2 Salty tour happening now. Learn more and get tickets: https://www.fortunefeimster.com/
Don’t forget to call us and leave a message - we might play your question in next week’s episode. Tell us what you like, ask a question, or just say hi. Call 323-364-3929.

    About the Holderness Family
: Penn, Kim, Lola, and Penn Charles Holderness create original music, parodies, and Vlogs for YouTube and Facebook to poke fun of themselves and celebrate the absurdity in circumstances most families face in their day to day life. They published "Christmas Jammies" in December 2013 and life hasn't been the same. Since then, their popular parodies, "All About That Baste", "Baby Got Class," and original music "Snow Day" have received national news coverage. Penn, the Dad, took a chance and left his job as a news anchor to join his wife Kim, the Mom, at their video production and digital marketing company, Greenroom Communications, LLC. Lola and Penn Charles are always happy, respectful and eat all of their vegetables (that last sentence is a lie).

    Be A Goldfish

    Be A Goldfish

Penn and I talk about treating your marriage like a team using the most inspirational and uplifting muse we know… Ted Lasso. Our family loves watching Ted Lasso, and we’re going through withdrawals now that Season 2 is over. So we thought we’d use some of the show’s best one-liners to talk about treating your marriage as a team. (Who needs couples therapy when you have Ted Lasso, right? Totally kidding.)

Keeping Kids Safe Online with Roo Powell

Keeping Kids Safe Online with Roo Powell

*This podcast episode is around the heavy topic of social media and the prevalence of sexual predators. There is content on the show that people may find disturbing. Though it’s important to have these conversations with your kids, we recommend listening on your own first.*
We interviewed my friend, Roo Powell, on our podcast in February 2020 where she talked to us about her work uncovering online sexual predators. Roo is a mom, writer, advocate, and the founder of  SOSA, Safe from Online Sex Abuse, a non-profit that raises awareness and combats the pervasiveness of online sex abuse and exploitation. Roo and the SOSA team have a new docuseries, Undercover Underage, that was released this month on Discovery+ that shows her work undercover to keep kids safe.
To learn more about the work that SOSA is doing and ways you can support this important work, visit their website at: sosatogether.org. You can stream Undercover Underage (rated TV-14) on Discovery+.

We Weird Job So Hard with IMOMSOHARD

We Weird Job So Hard with IMOMSOHARD

People always ask us what it’s like to do our job. We get it. It’s a weird way to pay the mortgage. Our version of a business seminar is when we get to sit down with other creators and share our non-traditional job experiences. That's why we were excited to swap stories with fellow creators Kristin Hensley & Jen Smedley from #IMOMSOHARD on this week’s podcast. We guarantee these ladies will make you laugh, as we did PLENTY of times in this interview.
You can find Kristin and Jen on the #IMOMSOHARD: Getaway Tour at www.imomsohard.com. Also be sure to check out their new line of wine, Accomplice, and their new children’s book, The Meanest of Meanies. What’s something weird you have to do at your job?

Treat Your Partner Like A Stranger

Treat Your Partner Like A Stranger

Penn and I have been married for 16 years, so we've gotten real comfortable with each other. So comfortable, in fact, that one day we realized... are we showing more gratitude and appreciation to a complete stranger than our spouse?
In this podcast, we share our top tips to help when you are feeling a gratitude deficit and how to show appreciation more effectively. Leave a review or comment, and tell us how you make sure you show gratitude to your significant other!

Real talk

Sometimes I get whiplash from nodding so much in agreement with Penn and Kim. I found the Holderness Family through their goofy - and insanely creative - Instagram videos, and I am staying for the real talk on this podcast. I would highly recommended their audiobook as well!

Y’all are doing it!

Thanks for being vulnerable in your experiences and opening up your lives to the rest of us. I find myself relating to you and learning something from every episode. Thanks for the laughs and great content.

Love the podcast! You two are so dang cute together and you make me laugh! I am lucky to have an amazing hubby too. A good partner is life’s greatest blessing. ❤️ I love your honesty, authenticity, humor and genuine affection for each other. I started following your videos years ago and then the podcast. I bought the book too. Keep up the good work!
