After 20 years of being an entrepreneur and starting multi-million dollar companies around the world with thousands of employees, Henrik realised that economic success and recognition wasn’t the answer. With the help of the universe, mother nature and his own strong will and curiosity, a new path emerged that was less serious, more playful and free from expectations. Now he has started a podcast called “The Honest Podcast” that tells people how to live their lives based on Henrik's innate common sense and decades of mistakes and regret. Together with a constant revolving panel of friends and other self-proclaimed experts, The Honest Podcast discusses interesting topics every month with brutal honesty and a lot of sarcasm. The listener will have a lot of fun listening to this podcast, maybe even be inspired, but Henrik would be very sad if you actually learned something new. Enjoy!

Entrepreneurship, Spirituality and Shamanism (LITS X episode)

Entrepreneurship, Spirituality and Shamanism (LITS X episode)

Hey all you listeners! Yes, I'm talking to you two. Last month I visited Nova University in Lisbon and spoke to professor Davide Bernardo on his podcast series called LITS X
We had a nice talk about entrepreneurship and spirituality and tried to answer the question; Is a cut throat fight-to-survive business environement compatible with spirituality? The ego's desire for fame and fortune can be a great driving force that enables you to overcome even the biggest obstacles, but does it come at a cost for your mental health and happiness in life? And does being content with everything as is make great founders?
Have a listen. Hope you enjoy it.
Episode intro: With the wisdom he acquired at Rocket Internet, Henrik sought out to build something entirely from scratch, and that’s how the biggest legal and consumer rights company in the world was born. Beyond his impressive journey as an entrepreneur, Henrik reveals how his experience with psychedelics has reshaped his approach to business and life. In this episode, Henrik pushes you to rethink the role of education in forging a successful path in entrepreneurship and he is ready to prove that you can get far with little money nowadays.

    The Meaning of Life

    The Meaning of Life

Hope you’re having a fantastic start to 2023 with spring just around the corner? Or maybe you’re feeling a bit indifferent about everything. Maybe, it’s just another year again. Another list of things to accomplish this year that you might never achieve. Because you don’t have time. Or you don’t have the money. Why don’t you just do the things you like? What is holding you back? Or are you just being lazy? Maybe you feel you could be so good at something. If you just knew what it was? Why is life so complicated and difficult? If it your job, your wife/husband, your kids, or just this stupid world. What is the meaning of all this? What is the purpose of my existence?
If the voice inside your head is asking you some of these questions, stay tuned. Because today we talk to someone who has spent the last decade trying to find the answers…

    Ego Flipping (Awake Forward Interview)

    Ego Flipping (Awake Forward Interview)

This month’s episode of The Honest Podcast is a take-over special where yours truly is being interviewed by Michael Costuros on his podcast, Awake Forward. Michael interviews three different founder CEOs and how they were able to flip their ego from unruly master to humble servant. It’s a mind blowing episode with three very different stories that all include a physical or psychological near death experience (or both) that changed their lives forever. Give it a listen.
Michael and I have worked together for many years. We first met back in 2016 where I joined one of Michael’s EntrepreneursAwakening retreats in Peru. Besides being an experienced entrepreneur himself and knowing the tough and lonely life as a CEO, he is also an excellent coach pioneering psychedelic-assisted therapy to help startup founders become better leaders (and humans) to the benefit of everyone. It’s an accelerated next level approach to leadership development that I highly recommend any business leader out there searching for a good coach.
You’ll find a lot more info and details about Michael’s coaching and mastermind retreats at www.awakeforward.com.
Awake Forward Episode Intro: A Harvard Business Review study showed that greater than 50% of venture-backed startup founders/CEOs fail due to two reasons: Co-founder conflict and immature leadership. This is likely true, but there is a seldom discussed deeper cause… Ego.
On one hand, if your ego isn’t strong enough, you will fail. On the other hand, if it is too strong, you will also fail. So how does one become the master of their ego and maintain the winning balance?

    Fireside Chat with Jules

    Fireside Chat with Jules

I’m back!! Sorry to all my listeners for disappearing the last 6 months, but I had a valid excuse. I became a dad… again! My little son Otto was born on July 28th. Exactly 1,5 years after my daughter. And let me tell you. Having two kids under 2y is such an easy ride with so much free time and long nights of deep deep REM sleep. You should totally try it. You immediately look 5 years younger ;)
In today’s episode, I sit down with one of the funniest people I know. He’s African, but he is white. He is a philanthropist but doesn’t have any money. He’s an entertainer without a show. Well today, the stage is all his and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Julian Johnson back on the The Honest Podcast. Enjoy!

    The Happiest People on Earth

    The Happiest People on Earth

In this episode, we’re talking about the happiest people on earth. The Danes.
The Danes come from a tiny country called Denmark squeezed in between Norway and Sweden to the north and Germany to the south. We’re the home to the Vikings and used to be 10 times bigger, but f****d it up along the way. Now we’re just 5 million people speaking one of the world's most ugly languages. But we’re extremely happy. Actually, the happiest people on earth according to many studies. And also some of the biggest consumers of alcohol and anti-depressants funny enough. We pay the highest tax in the world, but we're extremely proud of our little country. Especially the people who never lived anywhere else. And if you look up fairy tale, you’ll likely find a picture taken in Denmark. Everyone visiting Denmark loves it and everyone who knows a Dane loves them. Why are the Danes so happy? What’s the Danish model? Why do we have the best restaurants in the world? And why did Trump see us as nasty communists? A lot more questions and answers as we deep dive into the Danish story on this episode of the Honest Podcast.

    Psychedelics

    Psychedelics

Today’s episode is about a topic that’s close to my heart, mind and soul. We’re going to talk about psychedelics. Yup! Another podcast with a bunch of white dudes talking about their amazing trips.
Let’s start by defining what psychedelics are. Psychedelics (also known as hallucinogens) are a class of psychoactive substances that produce changes in perception, mood and cognitive processes. The word itself means “mind-manifesting” and comes from ancient Greece. Psychedelics include a wide range of different plants and substances, but the most well-known are magic mushrooms, lsd/acid, mescaline (also found in San Pedro and Peyote cactus), various forms of DMT (also found in different plants, animals and even ourselves). Because of many decades of misinformation, political agendas and simple ignorance, all psychedelics are categorized and perceived as illegal drugs with no health benefits to the general public. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and in this episode I’m going to try to explain why that is. To help me with this huge task,  I have invited two fellow experienced psychonauts to the podcast. Let the visuals begin...

A useful take on the pros/cons of moving to Portugal

I really liked how balanced this podcast episode was, including the opinions of both expats moving to Portugal (participating in the golden visa program and not) and also a Portuguese perspective. As someone who’s moved abroad a few times I have been intrigued by the ‘scene’ in Portugal and I felt like I got a much better sense of what it might be like to live there, from people who genuinely care about the place.
