Do your research

Please do your research before so vehemently stating medical fallacies about the Lindsay Clancy case. You mentioned that she should have received postpartum mental health training as an L&D nurse. Postpartum psychiatric illnesses (which begins days to MONTHS after birth) fall under the branch of psychiatry and would not be under the realm of L&D nurses who take care of patients 2-3 days after they give birth. You mention it’s strange she had never been diagnosed with postpartum psychosis before, let alone postpartum depression. These are clinical diagnoses, meaning there is no lab work or definitive diagnostic test, but is mostly based on history-taking from the patient. Clancy could have withheld or delusions and hallucinations out of fear for repercussions and clearly she sought psychiatric help. I’m extremely disappointed about how this information was so confidently communicated, when you two do not have the medical background to add judgment to the facts of this case.

I appreciate the commentary and the ability to provide short summaries. Never thought I’d like something from New Jersey ( I grew up in upstate NY) but here we are!
