Welcome to the (in)courage podcast! We are all different ages, in different life stages, and we come from different cultures and churches, but our common thread is the hope of Jesus. Each weekday we meet you right where you are as one of our writers shares what’s going on in her everyday life and how God’s right in the middle of it all. We bring our joys and struggles equally so that you can feel less alone, and be empowered by the hope Jesus gives. We hope you’ll bring us along with you on your morning walks, driving to the grocery store, waiting in the preschool pickup line, alone in your kitchen, or as you wind down for the evening. Wherever you join us, you’re welcome here, and we’re honored to be a part of your day. Read our daily posts at incourage.me. The (in)courage podcast is brought to you by DaySpring. For over 50 years, DaySpring has created quality cards, books, and gifts that help you live your faith. Find out more at DaySpring.com.

Michele Cushatt: For the Love of Learning

Michele Cushatt: For the Love of Learning

"How often do we choose today's comfort at the cost of tomorrow's growth? Comfort isn't always the haven we think it is. Sometimes it is a tomb.

A bulb that stays entombed too long in the ground eventually withers. So do we. When we start avoiding difficult circumstances, new adventures, challenging circumstances, and difficult people and conversations, we end up stunting the growth God desires for us. As a result, we miss out on our spring."

Holley Gerth: Help When Social Media Makes You Compare

Holley Gerth: Help When Social Media Makes You Compare

"We serve a God who cares more about the quality of our faithfulness with what He’s given us than the quantity of our accomplishments. He isn’t asking us to do as much as we possibly can; He is asking us to say “yes” to what He asks us to do with what He’s entrusted to us. He isn’t looking for more people to have big platforms; He is searching for humble hearts willing to do little things with great love. God is not comparing us to anyone else, He is always and only inviting us to become more like Jesus."

Rachel Marie Kang: For When You’re Exhausted and Coffee Can't Take the Tired Away

Rachel Marie Kang: For When You’re Exhausted and Coffee Can't Take the Tired Away

"We are worn out. We are tapped. We are tired of and from watching the news and waiting for God to usher in salvation and solutions. We are holding our collective breath, barely awake and hardly aware of our need for rest — true rest.

In the quiet moments, when I sit in silence long enough to let the truth be loud, I can hear the holy whisper. And maybe you do, too?

I need Christ more than I need coffee."

Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young: Gifts and Talents Need to Be Tended Over Time

Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young: Gifts and Talents Need to Be Tended Over Time

"God grants us gifts and talents that need to be tended over time. Gifts and talents take time to bloom."

Dorina's new kid's book, Kailani's Gift, echoes this same message. Kailani needs to have the courage to try something new. Even though she doesn't master it right away, Kailani perseveres. The tinikling dance is challenging, but it is also rewarding when she can offer it as a gift to her grandparents.

We all might be clumsy with new things at first, but if we push through the awkwardness and have fun, we can bless others with what we have learned.

Dawn Camp: The Years Give as Much as They Take

Dawn Camp: The Years Give as Much as They Take

"Time is a gift I shouldn't squander. The Lord wants us to learn from our experiences so we can teach and comfort others the way He has taught and consoled us over the years.

The next time you’re overwhelmed by your current circumstances, spend time with a woman who’s been there and can give you her long-range perspective.

And the next time you worry you’re getting older and are no longer able (or no longer have) to do the things you used to, appreciate the depth of your knowledge and experience and look for ways to share the things you’ve learned — and God’s grace and mercy — with others."

100 Days of Strength in Any Struggle: Honest Prayer, with Becky Keife, Kayla Craig, and Tasha Jun

100 Days of Strength in Any Struggle: Honest Prayer, with Becky Keife, Kayla Craig, and Tasha Jun

    Summary
In this episode, Becky Keife, Kayla Craig, and Tasha Jun discuss the theme of honest prayer from the (in)courage book '100 Days of Strength in Any Struggle.' They share their personal experiences of struggling and being desperate for God's strength, and how honest prayer has helped them in those moments. They also discuss barriers to honest prayer, such as doubt and feeling like prayers are too small or selfish. They highlight the importance of journaling and the power of short, honest prayers. The episode concludes with encouragement to open the door to honest prayer and a prayer for you, the listener.

    Takeaways
Honest prayer is an ongoing conversation with God, where we share and receive, even when we don't have words.God wants us to pour out our hearts to Him and be honest about our struggles and doubts.Barriers to honest prayer include feeling like prayers are too small or selfish, doubting the effectiveness of prayer, and judging ourselves for our emotions.Prayer doesn't have to be long or eloquent; short and honest prayers are powerful.Opening the door to honest prayer allows us to experience God's presence, compassion, and love.--

Sigkapoli ,

Wonderful start to the day

My days do not start with the same routine each day. I have at least the time to listen to the daily encouragement while I make my tea or take my dog out. So far this has proven to be an easy addition to a daily unpredictable schedule.

Listen Every Morning!

I’ve made this brief podcast part of my morning quiet time. I highly recommend it along with your Bible.

Me too!!!!

Seriously thank you sister is Christ for being raw honest and real. I can feel so alone on most days thinking there’s some thing wrong with me… Hearing your words this morning was like honey to my soul :-)Please remember that you are not alone and the topic of mental health needs to be talked about just as much as the topic of physical health, remember folks they intricately work together as one. God is using you in so many ways… thank you so much for putting that pep back in my step and the inspiration back in my heart to not give up and to love myself fully for whom God made me. I can’t imagine how many others you spoke too today… I can only imagine… :-) So many God winks everywhere love it…love you beautiful ladies… sisters in Christ… keep shining for Jesus. And again I can’t thank you enough for your podcast… every day hitting play is like a breathe of fresh air straight from Jesus.
Peace’Love’Godbless
