The India Hicks Podcast
A wonderfully intimate look into the life and work of India Hicks and her extraordinary family. In Season One we’re talking Movie Stars, Matadors and Maharajas as we have tea and cake with Lady Pamela, daughter of Lord and Lady Mountbatten and of course India’s much moved mum. Now in her 90s Lady Pamela’s stories will astound you; she’s first cousins with Prince Philip, travelled the world on the famous Commonwealth tour when Princess Elizabeth became Queen, befriended everyone from Grace Kelly to Gandhi and had a front row seat as her father, the last Viceroy of India, oversaw the complicated process of partition. We ask that if you have listened to this podcast would you be so kind as to consider making a donation to The Princes Trust - a charitable organisation with which India is actively involved. Many thanks. www.princes-trust.org.uk Produced by Lisa Francesca Nand and edited by Alex George.

I love hearing all these stories firsthand. Please record more episodes! My grandfather was Lord Mountbatten’s pilot in India and it feels amazing to hear about it from Lady Pamela and picture him there in the background of these historical moments.
Outstanding Podcast!!

I love learning about the extended Royal family and the Mountbattens played such an important part going all the way back to Queen Victoria. I love hearing your mother tell her stories and I enjoy how you clarify who was related to who. Thank you so much for having this podcast. Keep it coming!!
Lady Mountbatten’s Death

I was deeply moved as your mother told of her mother’s death. Listening to both episodes about Lady Mountbatten was fascinating as she went from this carefree young woman to wife, mother and force to be reckoned with. She was a profound example of serving King and country and while she did not die on the battlefield she gave her life no less than the brave soldiers who did. I’ve so enjoyed listening to your mothers front row seat stories of her family’s place in British history. How wise of you India to get these astounding, funny and insightful stories on tape for all your family’s future generations to enjoy. I must ask if there are transcripts available? I’ve listened to your podcast while driving and the noise from the road muffled some things that your mother said. Such a brilliant idea this podcast, I hope there might be more episodes!
