The Injured Athletes Club
We’re sorry you’re here, but we’re glad you’re with us! If you’re lucky enough to call yourself an athlete, chances are you’ve been injured. One of the biggest challenges of injury is facing recovery alone. Now, you don’t have to. Mental skills coach Carrie Jackson and journalist Cindy Kuzma interview athletes about how they've coped with sports injuries and come out stronger on the other side. And, Carrie shares some of the mental skills and drills she teaches injured athletes—tools you can use to stay positive and resilient during your recovery. Not only can these strategies help you bounce back stronger from injury, you can use them to rebound from any setback in your sport—or in life. THANK YOU - from a musician

Oh my goodness I am so happy I came across this program. I am a recent college music grad, and almost 2 years ago tore my lip while overplaying on trumpet, a tragically common injury for trumpet players. I'm still trying to come back to playing all this time later and it has been a long road! My experience led me to create a podcast just like this where I interview professional musicians who have gone through injury, and also give mindset/mental skills tips that have helped me get through my injury (not plugging my show, just giving context) but I will definitely share this show with my listeners! You are doing amazing work!! Hope we can collaborate in the future!
Thank you for this.

I love your book and have gifted it to quite a few friends recovering from injuries and surgeries. Now that I’m redefining my identity as a runner to an injured runner to maybe a new sport or new goals, I’ve found it again and am so happy it’s still going strong!
Wonderful and Relatable

Being an athlete has been my whole life. I never reached my full potential because the doctors and specialists could never find anything with my chronic pain. I finally found a surgeon who was willing to try a few things, and two surgeries later, I’m on the road to recovery. It has been a long and grueling process and your podcast has been an amazing staple in my present life as I work through the mental health aspect of the entire healing process. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone working through injury and recovery. Thank you!!
College athletes must listen

I am an injured college athlete and this podcast saved my life. The topics touched on are so beneficial to the mental recovery that comes with an injury. I spent the past semester being dismissed and feeling very isolated which lead to a slump in depression and after listening to this podcast I feel like I’m a person again and it gave me the motivation to keep working hard.
