The Innovator’s Mindset Podcast

I have been listening for a few years. Recently I chose to reposted to every episode from this current year. It was a wise decision and it has been great to revisit all of the great episodes from these past 9 months.

I came across George many years ago and so many of his ideas in his books and podcasts resonated as much as anything in education ever has for me! I’ve applied so many things mentioned in them to help make me not only a better educator but person as well. He is brilliant and helps make people better! Other than a few of his sports teams, the podcast and George are nothing short of elite and amazing. If your looking to grow as a person and educator, get connected with George Curous!

The Innovator’s Mindset Podcast helps me feel good about my teaching craft. I did not think it was possible, but this podcast just keeps getting better. It helps me keep my perspective where it needs to be and it helps me focus on my successes. In these days it is difficult to feel we are on the right course teaching during a pandemic. I frequently feel like I am “not enough” as a teacher and this is especially true during this health crisis. This podcast helps me focus on the good things I am doing and it helps me focus my improvements. It gives me reminders to keep focusing on building relationships and helping structure activities and lessons that help students be active and innovative as they learn. I love that George Couros shares that this podcast started as he takes a risk. This is literally him demonstrating the advice he gives us as teachers. I love that in the early episodes we have shorter pieces of advice that are “food for thought.” The later episodes extend the topics with more details and examples or have great interviews with educators and educational leaders. It is great to witness the evolution of this project. It feeds my teacher’s soul. I absolutely love the addition of Mindset-Monday. This podcast keeps getting better. If you like this podcast I recommend you follow George Couros on social media, read his blogs, and read his books. Innovator’s Mindset is great, and so is Innovating Inside the Box, co authored by Katie Novak. Now Because of a Teacher is also available. You don’t need to read those to appreciate this podcast. I am more willing to take professional risks as a result of listening to this podcast. I strongly recommend it.
