Jackie and Laurie’s insights to stand up world is fascinating, entertaining, motivational, and hilarious. I’m an aspiring comedian and met Laurie at Broadway Comedy Club and she was amazing (I had to go after her and bombed LOL).

Jackie is great

Jackie and Laurie started great. Jackie is human and honest about her expectations for herself and others. Laurie is an entitled loudmouth with a lot of opinions. The first time Laurie came to my attention was for her joke about Martin Sheen, which I thought was hilarious and still enjoy. The more the podcast goes on, it becomes slightly less likable by the episode. Constantly complaining about how she doesn’t get enough work (while simultaneously crowing about how many gigs she can do in a night/weekend/etc). Casting judgement on anyone who looks in her direction or crosses her path, Laurie is always looking for a fight and is ready to take an indignant stance. The merest slight is cause for unending offense, even against co-host, foil, and entirely too-patient Jackie. Laurie briefly stops complaining long enough to trumpet a “female comic of the week”, but usually has some back-handed whinge about how successful or attractive the target may be and how those things are undeserved or fleeting. Episode “Too Tired To Fight Back” became the straw that broke the camel’s back, as J&L launched into their MaxFunDrive, Laurie’s chance to tell listeners that they are bad people, if they accept the freely distributed podcast without rewarding her. I love the Dork Forest and have donated to Jackie. I know Laurie won’t see this (since she thinks all reviews and comments are beneath her), which is sad. A reality call might help her see that constantly kvetching is repulsive. I’ve given up trying to support this podcast. Good luck, Jackie.
