    Today’s guest is, Dr. Jacqueline Bouvier Copeland, Founder of Black Philanthropy Month (http://www.blackphilanthropymonth.com/), founded in 2011. “Black Philanthropy Month” is a 10-year old global collaboration to celebrate, promote and elevate Black giving and funding in all its forms every August and year-round. This global celebration, which is recognized by the UN and 30 governmental entities.

    Dr. Copeland is also Founder & CEO of (The WISE Fund ) which stands for the “Women Invested to Save Earth” Fund (https://thewisefund.org). The WISE Fund is an impact enterprise providing funding for promising underrepresented innovators using technology and other tools for social and environmental impact, particularly in Africa, Australia, Brazil, The Caribbean, India, USA and Diasporas.

    Dr. Copeland created Reunity (www.reunity.net) , a women’s philanthropy network which is now part of The WISE Fund. She also created the initial design of My Brother’s Keeper, an Obama Administration legacy initiative.

    Dr. Copeland also founded Renewell, a sustainability company providing corporate services for a more just and equitable world.

    Dr. Copeland is an expert on cultural and ecosystem diversity issues. She is recognized by Congress as a HistoryMaker for her innovative civic contributions and is recently recognized as one of the world’s TOP 100 Philanthropy Leaders by advocacy group, Philanthropy Unbound.

    She is a professor, trainer, curator, blogger, frequently sought-after keynote speaker and published author on a wide range of business and ESG issues.

    Dr. Copeland holds two masters degrees, one in urban design and the other in cultural anthropology, with a PhD in anthropology all from the University of Pennsylvania. Her undergraduate degrees are from Georgetown University’s liberal arts and foreign service schools in literature and African studies. She also studied African history and culture at University of Ife in Nigeria under Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka.
