As a Navy Seal and Green Beret, Kevin Seiff and Greg VanDyne know what it’s like to operate in a high-performing environment, but when they left the military there was a major sense of loss after hanging up the uniform. Terms like mission, purpose, and community fell by the wayside, as it does for most every other military veteran if they are not intentional about seeking those out. Because of this known void, they decided to build a community around entrepreneurship, called Vet Collective.
Vet Collective is a community of veterans who are on a mission to become entrepreneurs. They share their experiences, insights, and resources to help each other achieve more, faster.

342. Loaded Down with Luggage: Real Talk
Men tend to be singularly focused: "I'd like to have sex with my wife" (carry one suitcase at a time).
Women tend to have multiple focuses: "what do I make for breakfast, do we have enough milk, should I make a Dr. appointment for my son because he said his ear hurts, are the dishes dirty in the dishwasher, did I wash my daughter's gymnastics uniform, did I RSVP for the school play, how far behind am I in my Bible study that I volunteered to lead, should I call my friend who's having a tough time in her divorce (carry multiple suitcases).
Maybe it's time to for the man to carry more of the luggage.

Michael Stewart is the director of Practice Ministries—a ministry with a mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ through father-son and father-daughter Bible Studies. Michael participated in Practice Ministries when it started in 1996.
The Lord brought him back to direct Practice Ministries after serving over ten years at Dallas Baptist University. Practice Ministries provides the method, model, and materials for dads to teach their children God's word. Today we dive into his story, how we can disciple our children, and much more.

340. The Kinetic Life Circle - Friends (Part 2): Real Talk
One of the greatest and most dangerous lies we have ever believed is in the idea of the independent man, the macho guy who doesn’t need anyone. This is the man who beats his chest and says things like: “If it’s to be, it’s up to me” and “I’m going to pull myself up by my bootstraps.”
The problem with this thinking is that it denies truth.
The data is in, it is clear, it is irrefutable, and it is drastic. A simple Google search for the “impacts of having no friends” is illuminating.
The bottom line is this: Our relationships with our friends provide insight into our quality of life and also our longevity. Do something about it, call a friend today!
