The Know Rogan Experience

I think this is show is going to be crucial in our lives going forward. In how we analyze the flood of disinformation we are hearing. Not just from Rogan, but with the tools everyone should have in being critical of everything we hear about what’s going on in the world.

Just started listening, and I love this show! Great music and bumpers, first of all. Has to be said. Marsh and Cecil do a great job of focusing our attention on “who is this person being interviewed?” And “what might their motivation be?”. Bringing to light critical information, and teaching skepticism basics (skeptical toolbox! Great quote on that segment also); reminding us that what we are NOT being told is often as/more important than what we are being told. Framing is everything, especially when we pick and choose the news/podcasts that define our reality. It’s very easy to be manipulated, and this show reminds us how this can be overlooked in an otherwise 4 hour stream-of-consciousness show. I don’t have time to listen to Rogan, and this is a fantastic way to keep pace with what’s out there. I can only hope that this shows up on people’s feeds that are not otherwise skeptics or thinking about these issues so we can help them do some reality checking. Not that the show is all criticism, it gives credit when due. It’s more than fair to Rogan and his guests than they deserve IMO. I would be far more critical. Thank you for doing the show and keeping it on basics of skepticism! Looking forward to all the future episodes!

Full disclosure, I only fully made it through the first 4 episodes before getting queasy. This has nothing to do with Cecil or Marsh they are amazing. It has everything to do with Rogan and his guests. I am honestly shocked that my brain can tolerate Knowledge Fight but not this one. I think what makes Rogan so much worse is how many people I know who unironically think he’s amazing. How insidious his guests can be, and how Joe makes them sound like they are being reasonable (even when rampantly racist or anti reason). Whereas Alex is a caricature and hardly anyone takes him seriously. I commend these two podcasters for their bravery in this endeavor and will listen whenever I have the bandwidth. For those with a stronger constitution than I, you will like this I’m sure.
