The Lady Killers: A Feminine Rage Podcast

I listened to the recent Beguiled podcast and enjoyed hearing all three perspectives. Hope to hear more of Shelby Novak on here as she provided some great analysis of the film.

I’m a big fan of The Losers’ Club and Psychoanalysis podcasts and was so excited when I saw the initial Lady Killers announcement! Jenn, Sammie, Mae, and Rocco dive deep into the complexities of female-identified killers in horror in ways that are fascinating, thought-provoking, vulnerable, and sometimes downright hilarious. I appreciate their criticisms of characters and discussions of the sociopolitical contexts the characters and films exist in and how those pieces all connect through each film’s narrative. Each episode feels like a love letter to horror films and female characters in many ways and this show has definitely become my “comfort podcast.” I love this show, the hosts, and can’t wait to see what else they have in store!! If you love critically examining horror and female-identified killers (with occasional bonus hilarious discussions of hot, sweater-wearing actors) this is THE podcast for you!!

I love this podcast. I love how it focuses on women and women in horror films and how this show is a deep dive on the movie it’s covering. I love that there are multiple perspectives and especially enjoy May and Rocco’s views and input. Having said that I do have some criticism. Sammy takes up a disproportionate amount of speaking time compared to everyone else and she can be very repetitive, I wish this would be addressed and taken into consideration because I notice it every time. Otherwise, love the show and what it’s doing for the horror community.

I discovered this podcast about 9 months ago, & I have never been more thankful! The female forward format + the amazing hosts = the perfect recipe for fun. It has swiftly raced to the top of my list of favorites like the gorgeous dark horse that it is. I urge you to indulge- you won’t be sorry!
