    Notable Quotes from the Episode

If you don’t start today, you will regret not having started five years later. Connect the dots along the way and learn.

The longer you hold a land property before selling, the closer you get to the 7% ROI.

The quicker you buy your dream farm, the more you ease the analysis paralysis.

The passion for achieving your goals will make you uncomfortable in your comfort zone.

Use your primary job for your family and second job for land acquisition. Don’t do it in such a way that you will rob your family of its space and freedom.

Buying Land That Is In A Conservation Easement? Is It Even Worth it?!

Have you ever considered buying land in a conservation easement but weren't sure of the details? Listen as Jared Van Hees breaks down his Northern Michigan purchase. Since 1951, The Nature Conservancy has been working in partnership with individuals, local communities, government agencies, and private businesses to protect the natural landscapes that harbor the diversity of plant and animal life on Earth.

A conservation easement is a voluntary and legal agreement that allows landowners to retain desired rights to their private land while protecting important property features like woodlands, water sources, or native plantings. Over 16 million acres have been protected nationally by land trusts through conservation easements.

    Notable Quotes from the Episode

The type of land listing affects its price.

When a property is in an easement, you limit your customer base.

You can only improve your land and make it better through hard work.

If you don’t ask, you won’t get it.

Great Content and Great Connections

I’ve learned a ton from these easy to listen to podcasts. The questions asked and information shared has been a great tool on my journey to find a chunk of land. Although I’m looking for land in Wisconsin, Jake connected me with a great resource and I’m one step closer to a dream I’ve had since I could walk. Appreciate the work done here!

Eye Opening!

I really enjoy how this podcast doesn’t tell you what to do or how to buy land, it’s stories from different people explaining how they did it and got it done. None of the guests did it the same, and they were all successful in their own way. Great series showing many different options. Thanks!

Heavily leveraged this podcast for my first land purchase.

Continue to look forward to this podcast. No matter the subject or guest, there is valuable information if listen. I am a month away from closing on my first piece of land and have directly and indirectly leveraged this podcast every step of the way!

Found this podcast about 26 episodes in and listened to all within six days. Great information through casual dialogue. Just the podcast I was looking for as I have been planning to buy my first parcel. I look forward for my Tuesday commute to listen to the latest episode.
