May birthday here. My buddy matched with someone on Grindr whose profile pic was just a picture of Hisoka. Like, not a cosplay or anything. Just a screencap of Hisoka from the show.

Once got into a near screaming match with a coworker about the superiority of the chimera ant arc in the battle shonen sphere. My opponents argument was that (no spoilers) the end of a prominent character arc wasn’t all sunshine, rainbows and friendship. Extremely vindicating to hear most of my talking points parroted back at me. (Plus the much more insightful commentary by the hosts on things like the soundtrack and narrative structure of the show that I would have never picked up on myself. Seriously these guys are great)(Anyways…) I was RIGHT. TAKE THAT IT GUY.

Eric from the River with a May birthday reporting in! The MC+ crew are hilarious and give insightful discussions during this watch along. I especially love their discussions of music and background production details. I haven’t watched anime since I was a kid, but this show has started me back into it. Since listening I’ve been watching random episodes of Hunter x Hunter, which I have never seen, based on how interesting MC+ makes them sound, and also revisiting childhood favorites Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragonball Z.
