Gifted to Serve
Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote discusses how there are lots of great causes and important ministries, but no one can do all of them. Our gifts and the help of our community can help us discern the paths of service to take. 1 Peter 4:10-11 is one lens to help us choose how and where to serve.

Easter and Embodiment
Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote considers how Easter includes good news for our bodies.
These words from John 20:27 are among the texts he considers to help make this point: "Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”"

Curiosity and Witness
Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote looks back at his first job and considers how a healthy curiosity about others can be a gateway to prayer and witness. He connects this to the following statement from the ACNA catechism, particularly the lines about witness and service:
Q: How do you live in God’s kingdom?
As a citizen of God’s kingdom, I am called to live in obedience to
God’s Word and will, in loving witness and service to others, and
in joyful hope of Christ’s return.

Facing Fear
Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote discusses facing fear through the lens of these words found in the Nicene Creed:
"He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end."

Remembering the Plot
Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote considers the words of Jesus and how they serve as a reminder that confusion and bewilderment are not the final word. There is much evidence that may suggest that the big story ends with distress and conflict, but Jesus has other ideas.
The section of Scripture for this episode is found in John 16:33, particularly the words "...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Gratitude for the Obvious
Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote considers familiar language about Jesus and Mary in the Apostle's Creed and uses that as an opportunity to look at some obvious things in life. This is a great opportunity for gratitude.
You can read the Apostle's Creed here.
