Detraction: the act of openly and publicly belittling, disparaging or discrediting someone or something. Detraction of others can be a lot of fun, I admit—it sure makes you feel better about yourself. The problem is, it’s a sin. I have listened to this podcast from the beginning and loved it for a long time. Father Stephen’s intelligence and deep knowledge are bracing and enlightening, and his pastoral wisdom wonderful to receive. Lately though, the negativity of the content can drive me away, put off and, ultimately, bored.

I started listening to this podcast from the beginning. The subjects and information is great. However, it’s really hard to listen to. I went straight to the most recent episode to see if maybe there was improvement and it’s pretty much the same. Could just be nerves, but there is a lot of fillers such as um, right, ok, like, etc. and, I imagine, nervous laughter. Some editing can result in a really clean and easy to listen to finish. Better organizing on topics to avoid rambling would really help. Also, the intro was great for early episodes, but it’s really long and could be cut down. They have a lot of great insight to share. They just need some help in communicating it.

Really good content. Hard to listen to with so many “ums,” “rights,” and “huhs.” “Um, so, uh, yeah, so we are, uh,…”
