As a child, Clifford Bolden had a severe stutter and was teased by other children. Determined to stop the teasing, Clifford decided he wanted to sculpt his body and grow his muscles so that no one would want to give him a hard time. Not only did Clifford build his body, he also learned karate. Eventually, however, Clifford used his strength to rob and murder people. After serving some time, Clifford found himself in San Francisco, not able to find any work. A friend recommended he advertise himself as a model and gay escort to make money. Clifford felt very ashamed of this line of work however, he didn't stop doing it. One fateful night, he found himself at a gay bar named The Palladium where black men could meet white men. On September 8, 1986, Clifford met Henry Pedersen and the night ended with Henry dead.
