Ep62: The Gaines Tavern Ghost Investigation

To finish off our anniversary month celebration, the long awaited retelling of our ghost investigation at Gaines Tavern aka The Kentucky Horror House aka The Abner Gaines House!!

We initially were trying to convince Josh to come on to talk about his experiences with ghost investigating, and he ended up inviting us to try it out on our own! So we spent one very cold night in the haunted tavern. Highlights include a ghost who thought Sav looked like his wife, a child ghost that kept climbing into my lap, and a human man that did not belong on site.

Amazing!

I really love this show! There’s a great variety of topics (rescues are my favorite, listen to episode 56 for an amazing one!). The hosts are so fun to listen to, and do a good job presenting difficult topics. Overall one of my favorite shows! PS Josh should talk about ghosts :P

Typical liberal bias.

The Indian propaganda machine at work again. Assuming native Americans always held the high moral ground and all their woes are the fault of the white man.

It’s meh

I really wanted to like this podcast. As a fellow outdoor enthusiast I was excited to find a new show to get me through my work week. For starters: some episodes are better than others. There’s a lot of small talk with a LOT of harsh opinions (I know some people like this, personally I don’t). I also noticed that one host will jump at every opportunity to tell how experienced she is in the outdoors but may also spread misinformation in the process. One example: she mentioned you don’t need to bring bear spray unless you’re in grizzly country. This is false, carry it with you. You’ll wish you had it in the event you come across an aggressive predator. Overall it’s an alright podcast, I would say there’s more chit chat than actual story, it’s fine but not the best, and I would take all outdoor advice with a grain of salt.
