    110. Tips and Strategies to Help You Thrive As An Independent Consultant with Amy Rasdal

"I’m a consultant." We've said that sentence before and so have countless others. In theory, many solopreneurs can call themselves consultants, but that doesn’t mean they’re successful ones. Finding that success can be a challenge…unless you have the right tools, strategies, and systems in place.

And that’s where Amy Rasdal comes in. Amy traded her corporate job for consulting 15 years ago and makes more money than most executives. In addition to excellent pay, she has freedom, flexibility, control, and interesting work. And she can help you do the same.

As the founder of Billable at the Beach®, Amy has helped hundreds of people start their own successful consulting businesses through speaking, workshops and various programs.

We invited her on the show to discuss things like:
What you need to get started as a consultantHow to figure out how much to chargeWhether or not you should ever work for freeHow to actually get clientsThe most common mistakes aspiring consultants makePlus so much more! Be sure to tune in.

    109. Parent’s Attic to $20 Million Business - Lessons On How He Did It with Johnathan Price

This was likely the longest interview we’ve had to date, and we asked our guest if we could record a part 2 multiple times because we still didn’t think it was enough time. We could listen to him talk for hours, and we don’t say that often.

We invited Johnathan (or JP) Price on the show to share his journey, and discuss his background, mindset and growth tactics.

Listeners, let us tell you, you are in for a treat.

JP went from living in his parent’s attic to building a $20 million business that started as a hobby, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing.
If you want to hear about his ups, downs, and lessons learned, then be sure to tune in!

    108. Solo Startup Guidance: Nuggets of Wisdom from A Seasoned Serial Entrepreneur with Rob Walling

We usually don't start the episodes by listing off all of the accomplishments of our guests, but when you have somebody on who is this impressive and accomplished, it’s hard not to brag a little bit, especially when he has so much advice for solopreneurs. Mind you, this is us bragging on his behalf, he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would do that.

In this episode, we discuss things like:
The key advantages to bootstrapping a startup versus seeking outside fundingCommon pitfalls that aspiring solopreneurs encounter and how to avoid themStrategies for solopreneurs to achieve profitability sooner rather than laterTrends shaping the future of solopreneurshipThe most crucial skills or qualities that solopreneurs need to succeed in today's competitive landscapePlus the one piece of advice he would give aspiring soloprenuers, and so much more. Amy Rasdal ,

Solopreneuring can be lonely

I love being a solopreneur but sometimes I get stuck in my own head. It’s great to have practical advice and community. I always come away energized with new ideas on how to move forward.

Live Young, Die Fast ,

This show is why I love podcasts

Update after 100th episode: production quality has increased and the surrounding community is so much bigger!

I’ve tried my hand at a few businesses and usually get caught up and distracted by all of the “other stuff”. The stories from the soloprenuers in this series are going to be so valuable to gain perspective and operate smoothly out of the gate. The genuine passion from the hosts make all the difference - great content, tempo, and it’s wonderful to have a female entrepreneur sharing her perspective.
