I’ve been in pain management for 10 years now and on opioid treatment, for 10 years as well. I have Degenerative Disc Disease and have several herniated disc’s throughout my entire spine. I’ve had to work through some intense pain while starting a new career in the hopes of getting away from my abusive ex-husband and it’s not been easy, especially with daily pain. I value your story so much and learn so much from every podcast I listen to. Thank you for being so open! Us survivors are so appreciative!!!!

I have lived with chronic pain since I almost died in a motorcycle accident over 20 yrs ago. These 2 are some of the very few who actually get it.. tell it like it is.. even though others may try to understand- I believe chronic pain (and loving someone who lives with it) is easily misunderstood and looked at as unimportant. Nothing could be further from the truth. We need MORE info and less physicians who would be best described as drug dealers.. most Rx just add more symptoms to an already complex problem. Thank you for sharing and for discussing orthopathic options. My condition is for life. But I truly hope that Robbie gets better. God Bless both he and Sam for being brave enough to share truthfully.. 🙏🏻😇

Hello Sammi and Robby🌞💟 I’ve followed your story for some time now. I enjoy the cast. I tried other ways to contact you, but there are none that I could find. I am compelled to contact you regarding your latest cast and your discussion around the tv show Dopesick. Please do not fall for that anti-pain management hit piece. It is pure hypersensationalized, hyperbolic, cherry-picked, half truths. Beth Macy is trying to blame all that is wrong in the world, especially Appalachia, on OxyContin and Purdue. She blames addiction in America on Purdue. This is a severely non-science reductionist claim. Especially considering the problem w Appalachia has been severe poverty, lack of non-backbreaking jobs, and no healthcare. When people feel this malaise and hopelessness, it can lead to the mental health issue of addiction. Maybe she should write a book on how the state of Kentucky has failed to provide these much needed services and policies to their people, instead of blaming a molecule. Last I checked, this area has had a problem for a hundred years. Now, has far as Dopesick. The main advisors are a special interest group PROP headed by the most evil pain profiteer, Andrew Kolodny. He is the reason why we have the term opioid epidemic. He is part of the addiction industry and is trying to gain market share from pain management. He has never treated a patient for pain, yet his policy suggestions about how to treat pain are treated like as expert suggestions. He has gotten paid to be an expert witness in the opioid litigations. Everything he and his co-conspirators have done have given us a total disaster. For the past 10 yrs since we have enacted draconian anti pain policies, folding healthcare into the drug war, we have only seen consistent yearly record breaking overdoses, that have nothing to do with legitimately prescribed opioids. It’s all illicit. While this goes on, they attacked doctors and their patients, causing many doctors to leave the field of pain management, abandoning patients. This has led to millions of patients losing their entire healthcare team, treatments and medications that have allowed them a certain quality of life. The entire “opioid epidemic” has been a concerted effort by folks such as these, in an effort, to profit off of it, regardless how many are hurt. Please read up about the #PainPatientGenocide #SuicideDue2Pain #SavingUsToDeath and the great advocacy group #DontPunishPain We have been lied to. The opioid epidemic is a deflection from their failed drug war. It’s a lot easier to after doctors and drug companies. They’re easy to find, and some have deep pockets. It’s a way for them to say, “See, we didn’t fail, look what we’re doing” please The DEA should not be practicing medicine. It’s a lot of data to go through here. I would like to connect with y’all in some way to discuss further. Thanks. Feel better💟
