Dustin Tavella - Making the Impossible Possible Through Storytelling
There’s something cool about the way our stories unfold when we offer what we have openly to be used however God sees fit. Whether it's a gift or a calling, perhaps it’s a talent or a treasure. It’s like God has such a unique way of calling us into what he knows we’ve been designed to do and then taking us along the journey and process to get there we never knew we needed.
Dustin Tavella is a world-class performer. He is the winner of the hit competition show America's Got Talent. Dustin was crowned champion for his magic performances alongside his ability to inspire audiences through storytelling. The platform gave him the ability to show the world how personal connection is something we, as humans, long for.
Dustin does not just share ideologies, but he shares experience. For 20 years, Dustin has devoted himself to serving the world around him. He has worked with youth, those struggling with drug addiction, and also with the homeless. Dustin's angle on how to make an impact is incredibly unique and his approach to finding magic in everything that life throws our way is both simple and transformational.
I’m so thrilled to have had the opportunity to connect with Dustin, hear more of his story and perspective on how he and his wife do life beyond the stage. The way they seek to love people, love God and show up for what he’s inviting them into is beautiful and I just believe you will also be encouraged today!
Looking back on your own journey, you’ll be encouraged that God is entirely faithful and like Dustin, he will use even the unexpected ways ultimately for your good. Let’s dive into today’s conversation!

Luke Palasz - From Striving to Thriving!
Have you ever been in a season where you question where God is, what he’s doing and/or if he even cares? My new friend Luke lived a pretty long journey of faith through his dad’s battle with MS but in the process of growing in his own walk with God he learned what it was like to KNOW God personally, hear from him, get revelations from him, even words of encouragement and knowledge for others. What started with discovering a video of Disneyland miracles through a ministry called Love Says Go with Jason Chin while he was a student at Hillsong in Australia, became a lifetime journey of pursuing and experiencing God on a deeper level and I just believe you and I can too.
Luke Palasz, a Husband to Hannah, a Father to three boys; Leo, Eli, and Luca.
He works for Love Says Go Ministries as a Project Manager whilst being in the arbor culture industry as a tree climber. He obtained an Advanced Diploma of Ministry at Hillsong International Leadership College in Sydney Australia. Hannah and Luke both went to Redding for one year to experience the church culture at Bethel Church.
Currently, Luke and his family live in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and is involved with a house church network in that area. Luke is extremely passionate about God’s church and seeing his brothers and sisters come into the fullness that God has laid out before them.
Dive into today’s conversation with Luke and me as we talk all things “From Striving the Thriving” and how Luke crossed over from knowing God theoretically to knowing him experientially.
From Striving to Thriving byLuke Palasz will be on AMAZON December 16th - Mark your calendar and check back for the book link in DECEMBER here!

Pedro LaTorre - The Middle Seat Moments of Life
So much of today’s conversation points to evidence of the way God moves in, and through, our stories when we choose to walk into places and spaces he calls us to.
Challenged with the thought going forward from today’s conversation as well; “How many times can we say we’re walking into situations in life where God has our full attention? And where we’re living in a place of feeling the peace and lightness that Jesus offers?” I’ve done this moments before, but I can additionally say I want to do this more actively going forward and think you might want to as well after you hear today’s conversation with Pedro. Perhaps our calling isn’t about WHAT we do but where we are, who we are to be and how we travel light in life?
Pedro LaTorre serves as Founder & CEO of Brave Work, which empowers humans to discover, enjoy, and sustain their purpose. His live event speaking and creative approach to consulting has financially fueled organizations like Compassion International, charity: water, Find Rest, Ride Nature, and many others. He offers several workshops, video courses, and coaching opportunities. In addition, he is the author of 'The Middle Seat, Stop Craving Platforms and Start Loving People.' He lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and two children. You can find his podcast, videos, and more by visiting www.pedrolatorre.com.
With that said I cannot WAIT to dive into today’s conversation with Pedro, so if you’re ready for it, why dont you pull up a chair, grab that cup of coffee, and dive in with us to the places between. Learn more about Compassion, even sponsor a child here.

Lauren Labat: Living Out a Call to Maui!
I just love how God leads us through our journeys and stuff. By that I mean when we’re really going through it, and we take the opportunity to be authentic and vulnerable before him, He really does have a grace for that and oftentimes will speak his heart back to us when we’re listening. Today’s conversation reminded me that oftentimes on paper things won’t make sense but when you’re following the peace HE offers in the journey, while the world may be shouting at you one thing, it will be the peace he leads you with that covers everything whether it makes sense or not.
Lauren Labat is a dear friend from years back and funny enough we have quite the history of fun interactions. From Basketball Maui to cheering her on in her recent and epic global adventures with YWAM, it’s been a joy to watch from a distance the journey and adventurous life she has while also intersecting at points along our journey where we could often relate to the deep hopes and desires on our heart of wanting to impact the world for Jesus and hold a space for love and relationships to come.
I’m so excited to have Lauren share more of her story with you today. She talks all about her new adventure with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and her love of Maui, where she calls home, too. Her desire is to see revival in the islands and she believe that God wants to meet people and give them a hope and a future and she’s using her call to missions right in Hawaii to be a light right where he’s called her. In our time today she has some really amazing and sweet stories and moments to share that will encourage you in your journey too, so why don’t you pull up a chair, grab that cup of coffee and dive in with us to… the places between!
Lauren Labat is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes - Central Maui Area Rep
Lauren is a former collegiate basketball player who has directed local sports ministry non-profits and has been coaching and teaching athletes since 2008. Her sport missions’ journey began in 2008 when she joined Crossover International out of Denver, Colorado. Through Crossover, she was part of a team who traveled to European countries to put on basketball camps and preach the gospel. Serving with them until 2011 where she worked with Kids Across America as well as inner city sports camp in Branson, Missouri, it was soon after that her journey led her to Maui, Hawaii in 2013 where she became the Camp Director of BasketballMAUI for the following 7 years. As her journey ended with BasketballMAUI in 2020, even though she stepped out of sports missions full time, she served as a logistic coordinator for a docu series called Playing for Eternity (Angel Studios). Her playing, coaching, and director experiences have allowed her to confidently step into this next season with FCA and trust that God is moving in the area of Central Maui.
Lauren’s desire is to see revival in the islands and she believes that God wants to meet people and give them a hope and a future. “Hawaii is a special place that is dear to my heart. After living here for 10 years I consider Maui home and know much of our community. The local community has allowed me to become a part of their Ohana and I believe the impact we can have in our area will be greater than we could imagine. I am grateful to build a team that brings the Word and Gospel of Jesus Christ to these kids and families daily. I am trusting that God cares for these people and wants to see many come to salvation in Jesus Christ and to grow as His disciples. Overall, I am grateful for this calling and believe that God saves. Mahalo” - Lauren
Join Lauren in this next season of life as she raises support for her ministry and gets to serve numerous people through your gift today. Her Monthly goal is $9,000/month but can easily be met with just 45 people giving $200/month or 12 giving $750/month. In the summer of 2001, Michelle and John took their first family trip to Italy. It was love at first sight. Upon returning from the trip, John received Psalm 34:7 from the Father, "Delight yourself in the LORD, and I will give you the desires of your heart." For one year, he prayed for the nation of Italy.
Fast forward to today, They are now pursuing their call to Italy. Morgan Achterhoff - His Faithfulness to Our Lives, Stories & Hearts
When you imagine the life you’ll go onto live at 20 years old, everything on paper seems just peachy and if we were honest feels like we’re looking at the future through rose colored glasses, right? Fast forward for some into their 20s and life seems to be taking different turns than they “planned” or hoped for and then by the time you get to your 30s or 40s, plans have completely gone awry and NOT as planned, for most. I’ll bet any one of you listening can think back to an unrealistic hope you had for your life at an early age that could be quite comical now looking back. If we were honest, has been an ever winding dance with hope deferred and longing fulfilled. While I have some peers who got to experience the joy of marriage at an earlier point of their adulthood these are also friends who deeply struggle to find their dream job and are still grinding to get to it. And others I know have beautiful careers and fulfilling lives but wrestle to understand their identity in singleness, something for many I know wouldn’t have chosen. I know people who’ve spent their lives chasing something but realized into their 30s it wasn’t everything they wanted so I’ve watched as they’ve navigated this too. . .
The COMMON thread through it all though is navigating the places between and learning how to thrive, not just survive or suffer through the points we didn’t expect would take so long! AND going a step deeper, I’d say it has to be JESUS. Getting to see girl friends and guy friends place their entire hope and lives into Jesus and how he directs their steps is truly beautiful - but it's not easy and it's definitely not overnight. That’s why it's a journey, but it's one filled with amazing surprises and sweet moments of realizing the Father’s kindness in how he writes and draws close to us in our journeys.
Today I'm beyond thrilled to introduce a sweet friend of mine to you who I’ve gotten to see firsthand how her walk with the Lord has been her saving grace and her constant foundation in every twist and turn she’s been through. A bit about her background which you will find out more soon, Morgan is a physician assistant with close to adecade of surgical trauma experience who recently has pivoted her career intopart-time sports & regenerative medicine work while pursuing basketball coaching and training as a fun side-hobby. She loves all things sports, outdoor activities, and hanging out with family and friends.
She is SUCH a delight to me too and I couldn’t be more excited to share our convo with you today. We even talk about navigating the places of singleness and have quite the conversation for you! She’s a person who’s faith I deeply admire and the journey she’s been on the last few years I believe will add encouragement and hope into your journey today too.
