Celebrating 5 Years of The Playbook | Road to Revenue #125

Celebrating 5 Years of The Playbook | Road to Revenue #125

To celebrate the 5 Year anniversary of The Playbook, I was joined by Tim Storey, Ben Baller, and one of my favorite coaching clients, Shawn Walchef.

In 2017 - I thought there were "too many podcasts" to start my own, it’s amazing what can happen if you enjoy the consistent, persistent pursuit of your potentia I can’t believe that today is the 5-year anniversary of the first episode of my podcast The Playbook.

My excitement stems from how many people we have positively impacted with the show!

Hearing your stories and feedback on how the show has impacted your business or life remains my greatest joy.

Starting as a weekly podcast featuring some of my closest friends, athletes, and entrepreneurs sharing their "playbook to success", it quickly grew into a daily show with over 1,200 episodes featuring the likes of Cameron Diaz, Gary Vaynerchuk, Maria Sharapova, Tony Hawk, Tilman Fertitta, business leaders like Chip Wilson (Founder, Lululemon), Howard Behar (President, Starbucks), to legendary entertainers like Dan Aykroyd, Randy Jackson, Danica Patrick, thought leaders Jack Canfield, Sadhguru, Marianne Williamson, and many more.

I genuinely appreciate all of your support in making this podcast possible.

If you’ve found any value or entertainment from my podcast, it would mean the world to me if you left a review on Apple podcasts. Click here to leave a review.

The Difference Between Motivation & Inspiration

The Difference Between Motivation & Inspiration

    Motivation
Know that motivation doesn’t have longevity to it. It’s temporary. There is a difference between the performance of an employee who seems motivated and an employee who is engaged and inspired. Your goal as a motivational leader should be to understand how to best motivate your individual team members, as people react differently to different stimuli and situations.

Fear and Motivation - People think that you need to be afraid or experiencing fear to be motivated. Understand that fear only provides you momentary focus, not motivation.

Inspiration goes two ways, but first know that you are accountable for your own inspiration. When you are inspired, you are empowered to invest more (not sacrifice more) to get what you want, if you truly want it. Take accountability for yourself. Find what you love to do and align it with what must be done. Then, work to surround yourself with the right people. When I say, “the right people,” I mean the parts of the people you are most attracted to— the parts of others that bring you confidence, make you feel happy, or empower you to be your best self.
The second part of inspiration comes from helping your team clear their connection to that which inspires them. Encourage them to participate in activities and philanthropy that they enjoy.

Over-delivering Mentor

Through listening to Dave’s podcast, and consuming his other content, he has become a mentor to me in a way that few people have touched in my life. He has shown me how to think bigger, how to harness the power of my thoughts and intentionality, and how to partner with others that lift you to a higher state. He has shown me how faith can be brought into my work. The results…nothing shy of staggering. My life has changed dramatically since I met Dave and one of his colleagues, Shawn Dill. I only hope whoever reads this review commits themselves to growing like I have to see the fruit that comes from the wisdom Dave is imparting.
