Dungeon Masters
Uninterrupted Listening + Exclusive Bonus Episodes
$4.99/mo or $49.99/yr after trial
Dungeon Masters takes a behind-the-curtain look into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, told through the lenses of the creator of the game, Gary Gygax, played by Wil Wheaton and of private investigator, William Dear, played by Jon Hamm, a swashbuckling tough guy in 1979. Gygax guides the audience through this incredible true story as our Dungeon Master, as we follow Dear on his quest to find Dallas Egbert, a Michigan State student, who supposedly disappeared in the steam tunnels under his university while enacting a real-life version of D&D. What Dear encounters on this journey and ultimately discovers, defies all expectations, and changes the culture as we know it. Written by award-winning journalist and author, David Kushner, based on his interviews with Gary Gygax, his research and writing about Dungeons & Dragons (RISE OF THE DUNGEON MASTER), and the missing person case which inadvertently made the game (in)famous. Produced by Jon Hamm, David Kushner, Temple Hill and QCODE. All episodes will be available for free, but QCODE+ subscribers get early, uninterrupted access to new episodes and commentary. Good Idea, Poor Execution

Great idea for a series, and as always with QCode- the performance is impeccable. I think this show drags on with not enough events happening to keep the show interesting. I also wish they took the show a little more seriously. There are too many parts where the show is trying too hard to be funny/goofy.
Brilliant!

I had been hearing this podcast advertising everywhere and I had a long drive and decided to give a listen. I love John Ham and everything he’s in I have faith it will be great because he is such a dynamic actor. And wow! Was this podcast amazing! I finished it wanting more. I love Bill Dear’s story and his ability to seek justice while still relishing the limelight. I love the the sound effects and immersive experience. I truly felt I was in this world and could visualize everything as I was driving. I felt sad and angry for both Dallas and Bill Jr because they felt misunderstood by their parents and in turn isolated themselves. I was really happy that Dear realized his faults as a complex character but recognized his need to be a better father. I love that these characters have essences of real people that I know. It made me feel connected and familiar. Such a great podcast and wish there will be more stories like this to come! - T from Texas
