18: Brandon Lyons - American Hero; Making History With Team USA; Hard Work, Resilience and Determination

In the eighteenth episode of The Power of Good Intentions, Aliou Sidibe dives into the story of Brandon Lyons who is a the first ever Full-Time Resident Hand Cyclist in Team USA History. Team USA Profile: “Following graduation from Penn State University in 2012, Brandon Lyons began his career with the professional services firm of Ernst & Young (EY) in the greater Washington, D.C. area. During his first year as a consultant for the Big 4 firm, Lyons was recognized as the Supply Chain Rookie of the Year. His professional career was off to a great start, but that would quickly change. On May 24, 2014, Lyons dove into shallow water breaking his T5/T6 vertebrae and leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Lyons quickly took on this new challenge and returned to work at EY just four months after his accident, and even completed a marathon just five months after the date of his injury. He relocated to San Diego in 2016 to be closer to an advanced rehabilitation gym, which is where he found his passion for handcycling. He was introduced to former Ironman world champion David Bailey, and the two would ride the coast of southern California together as Bailey pushed Lyons to go faster. In March 2017, Lyons would be invited to a tryout at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center to earn a spot in the residence program. Lyons was awarded a spot as the first handcyclist in the residence program and would relocate to Colorado Springs, Colorado exactly three years after the date of his injury on May 24, 2017. Lyons made his first national team in 2019 and continues to work for EY.” In today’s episode, we talked about the challenges he faced and the mindset that helped him overcome those challenges. I am excited for you all to hear it and as always, I’d love to hear from you after you listen. Instagram: @thepowerofgoodintentions or @billionairesmindclub Enjoy! 16: Robert Pauley III - Your Style Is Your Life, Create Your Own Path, Making an Impact Through Fashion

In the sixteenth episode of The Power of Good Intentions, Aliou Sidibe dives into the story of Robert Pauley III who is the founder of WELTHĒ Guy, a fashion company. "From age 10-17, I was in foster care, living with my grandmother due to my parents being on drugs. This was a challenge because my parents couldn't take care of my brother and I. My extended family, aunties, and uncles helped in raising us. I always knew there was something better out there. I didn't know what exactly, but I knew life could be better. Many people have paved the way for me and I don't believe you can truly be successful without helping other people. When I am 80 years old and I look back at my life, I hope to see that I affected people's lives in a positive way." Connect with Robert:Website: https://welthelifestyle.com/aboutFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theweltheguyInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/theweltheguy/?hl=en-- - - - - - Thanks for listening. 15: Jean-Sebastien Surena - Connecting Through Art, Belief in Self, Happiness From Within

In the fifteenth episode of The Power of Good Intentions, Aliou Sidibe dives into the story of Jean Sebastien-Surena who is a spoken word artist and a Technology Consultant at EY.When he was 8 years old, Jean made the transition from Haiti to the US. He had previously been sent there to grow up with his grandmother and be close to his roots. However, when the country started to be plagued by a series of kidnappings, his parents decided to bring him back to the US.Being in a new country was not easy for Jean. He had to face bullying at a young age, racism, and other roadblocks. After going through this personal challenge and what was a difficult time for him, Jean grew up to be a leader and a spoken word artist. He graduated salutatorian of our class last year and is now working for a really great company. Today he uses his words to speak on systemic issues and racial inequality. You will notice that the flow of this episode is a bit different. When things are chaotic in the world, I personally like to fully dive into what I am doing and being present. Whether that is reading a book or listening to music. I really wanted to provide you that same feeling and experience so you will hear Jean’s story through his own words. This episode was recorded in January so you may hear about events that happened back then. This is something new that I am experimenting with and I would love to hear your thoughts.
