The Power of Oxygen 1st

When my son was little, I was a single mom who was doing it all alone. I was putting everyone else first and my own needs last. To everyone around me, I was successful but little did they know that my success was tied to pushing, stressing, sleepless nights and early morning workouts pushing my body and my limits to the extreme. Until one day  I was flying alone and nearly crashed an airplane and I realized that I needed to take care of my own needs first before anyone else. You see, when you’re a pilot, if you have any issues in the plane, you put on your oxygen mask 1st, not your passengers. They need you to land the plane.    This podcast is all about this journey to healing, to getting clear on the desires of your heart… and stepping into them with courage while leaning into, asking for and receiving support.  I hope you feel inspired to do less, to follow your passions and infuse them into your daily life and truly claim the life you were meant to live: a life filled to the brim with epic ADVENTURE.

EP 87: How To Release What No Longer Serves You

Letting go is never just about the physical act—it's about honoring what was while creating space for what's next. In this deeply personal episode, I open up about the emotional journey of selling the home that held me through divorce, single motherhood, and profound personal transformation. The house that witnessed my son's childhood, epic nerf gun battles, and my own rebirth has been on the market for eight weeks, bringing up feelings of frustration mixed with the understanding that divine timing works in mysterious ways. Rather than pushing against this resistance, I turned to one of my most trusted practices: writing a release letter during the full moon. I share the intimate letter I wrote to my former home—expressing gratitude for its sanctuary, acknowledging the growth it witnessed, and consciously releasing any lingering energy that might be blocking its transition to new owners. This ritual became more than just closure; it transformed into a sacred practice of honoring a space that was "never just a house" but a critical part of my becoming. We all face chapters ending in our lives—relationships that transform, spaces we outgrow, versions of ourselves we need to leave behind. Creating intentional rituals around these transitions can help us process grief, establish closure, and open ourselves to what's waiting on the other side. How might you honor the chapters you're closing in your own life? Don't miss my next episode where I'll share the companion letter to my future home—the space I'm calling in with intention and openness. And if you're struggling with delegation and support, download my new hiring ROI calculator from dotrockconsulting.com to help you make data-driven decisions about bringing more support into your life and business. EP 86: What If Gratitude Is the Most Powerful Therapy?

Gratitude transforms us in ways we rarely recognize. While we often think of gratitude as a polite expression of thanks, its power runs much deeper – it's actually a potent emotional detox that lifts heaviness from our souls and raises our vibrational frequency. In this episode, I share a deeply personal gratitude project that helped pull me from a dark emotional place. After postponing sending obituaries to the children of a father figure who passed away two years ago, I finally created a meaningful ritual around completing this task. Armed with thank you cards and Dunkin' Donuts gift cards (a nod to his habit of enjoying donuts while reading the newspaper), I spent an evening writing heartfelt notes expressing how their father shaped me into the woman I am today. With each "thank you" penned, I felt layers of accumulated emotional weight lifting away. The divine timing of this gratitude project became even more apparent during my son Dominic's frightening hospitalization. After days of poor progress, I prayed desperately for help. Minutes later, a young nurse named Gerald entered our room – the same name as my father figure who had passed away. This nurse engaged with Dominic, who finally began eating and showing improvement. It felt like a direct answer to my prayers, a spiritual connection reinforcing the power of gratitude in our lives. You don't need elaborate practices to experience gratitude's benefits. Simple actions – writing thank you notes, creating a gratitude photo journal, or even thanking yourself in the mirror – can profoundly impact your wellbeing, especially during healing, divorce, or burnout recovery. The key isn't perfection but authenticity. When we make space for genuine gratitude, we create room for life to feel beautiful again. Try your own gratitude practice this week – the ripple effects might surprise you. EP 84: Don't Wait Until You're Drowning To Breathe

Struggling to keep up with the endless demands of entrepreneurship? You're not alone. In this powerful episode, we dive into the heart of what truly holds business owners back—not lack of hustle, but lack of support. As entrepreneurs, we often wear 47 hats while eyeing that 48th one, convinced that delegating is harder than doing it ourselves. This deeply ingrained belief system doesn't just exhaust us—it fundamentally limits our businesses and our lives. When you're the only one holding everything up, your breathing gets shallow, your vision foggy, and creativity vanishes. You're not building something sustainable; you're building a prison of your own making. What would change if you allowed yourself to be truly supported? Even hiring someone part-time to handle just three things can transform your entire nervous system. Delegating tasks you dread brings creativity back online. Letting your team truly own their roles builds trust and momentum. The barrier isn't knowing what to delegate—it's giving yourself permission to be supported in the first place. Take a moment now to ask yourself: What am I doing that drains me? What would I let go of if I knew I couldn't fail? Where am I holding onto control out of fear? Your answers might just lead to the breakthrough your business needs. Remember, you don't need to prove your worth through exhaustion. You can choose to receive support before everything falls apart. Ready to take action? Download our free Hiring ROI Calculator at dotrockconsulting.com to make data-driven decisions about delegation. EP 83: What People ACTUALLY Need During Grief

The moments that test our limits rarely need solutions—they need presence. After weeks of hospital stays with my son Dominic, I've been reflecting deeply on what it means to truly support someone through crisis. That well-intentioned question we often ask—"What can I do to help?"—places the burden of instruction on someone already drowning in overwhelm. True support looks different. It's my book club friends who gathered money to stock a refrigerator with healing foods when one member's son had surgery. It's driving to be with a grieving family without waiting for an invitation, cleaning their house, running errands, and creating space for their complex emotions. It's sending a text that simply says "I see you" without demanding updates. As Ernest Hemingway wrote, "In our darkest moments, we don't need solutions or advice. What we yearn for is simply human connection, a quiet presence, a gentle touch." When someone you love is suffering, don't try to fix their pain or push away their shadows. Just sit beside them through their inner storms. Be the steady hand they can reach for without needing a roadmap. Let love be low pressure but high presence. And if you're the one struggling today—grieving, exhausted, in the thick of something hard—remember that you're worthy of being held, and there's nothing wrong with needing someone to simply walk alongside you. Your pain is yours to carry, but having companions who love you through it can change everything. That's the power of Oxygen First—taking care of ourselves so we can truly show up for others, and allowing others to show up for us. What's the most meaningful way someone has supported you during a difficult time? I'd love to hear your story. EP 82: How To Rise From the Ashes When Life Interrupts

Life has a way of interrupting our best-laid business plans. Just when things seem to be getting back to normal, the universe throws a curveball that changes everything. That's what happened to me recently when my son went from enjoying a beautiful Mother's Day dinner to being critically ill in the hospital within hours. The experience was terrifying - his fourth or fifth hospitalization in eight months. As I stayed by his side for days, exhausted yet present, I was reminded of a profound truth: when business and life collide, clarity emerges from chaos. After four days in the hospital, I didn't wake up overwhelmed as expected. Instead, I woke up transformed, having discovered something golden in the depths of that rock-bottom moment. What emerged was a powerful reminder about authentic leadership. I am the leader who sets the tone not just for my team, but for myself. I am the CEO of a business and life that prioritizes nourishment over depletion. This embodied leadership - flowing from the inside out - creates true sustainability. Since that experience, I've been showing up differently. Building client relationships based on energetic alignment rather than desperation. Protecting my schedule as sacred ground. Incorporating practices that make me feel alive and create space for innovation. What if your business plan started with how you want to feel? What if your marketing centered around what genuinely lights you up? What if your client strategy reflected the version of you who radiates from wholeness, not burnout? This is how we shift from hustle to magnetism. Remember, you're allowed to pause. You're allowed to prioritize what nourishes you. And the universe only has three answers: yes, not yet, or something better. If you're ready to rebuild your business with clarity, strategy, and soul, visit dotrockconsulting.com. Because you're not just a business owner - you're a visionary. Let's treat you like one. Want that FREE Hiring Return On Investment Calculator?! EP 81: Divine Whispers, Earth Angels, and the Will to Receive"

Magnetic energy flows when we align our actions with our vision. This episode reveals how operating as your future self—the one who has already achieved the success you desire—transforms your business strategy and results. When we live in alignment, clarity emerges naturally. Your decision-making accelerates because you stop outsourcing your authority to trends and outside opinions. Your marketing becomes genuinely magnetic because you fully believe your own message. This isn't about wishful thinking; it's about strategic energy management that eliminates the exhaustion of second-guessing yourself. The most compelling truth I've discovered while working with soul-led founders: people don't invest in products—they invest in certainty. And certainty comes from alignment. Whether you're in a pitch meeting, sales call, or job interview, the most compelling person isn't always the smartest—they're the most aligned. Clients feel it when you're embodying your true value rather than just stating it. Top talent gravitates toward leaders with clear vision. Investors trust founders who don't flinch when describing their future. Ready to harness this power? Try these three alignment strategies: First, audit your calendar—where are you saying yes from obligation instead of vision? Second, before sharing content, ask if your highest self would say this with deep conviction. Third, make decisions from alignment rather than urgency. When you align your energy and actions, you'll find yourself naturally taking the next right step, even before it feels completely safe. Head to dotrockconsulting.com if you're ready to build your next chapter from alignment, not exhaustion. Until next time, keep your oxygen first and lead like you mean it—in alignment with what feels good. Want that FREE Hiring Return On Investment Calculator?! EP 80: Strategy Is Not the Answer - Alignment Creates Business Magic

What happens when you operate with the confidence and clarity of someone who has already achieved the success you desire? Everything changes. The magnetic energy of alignment might be your most untapped business asset. When we begin operating as the version of ourselves who has already achieved our desired success, our strategy shifts, our confidence transforms, and our results naturally begin to reflect this powerful inner alignment. This alignment isn't just about feeling good—it creates genuine energetic efficiency in your business. You stop bleeding precious energy into proving yourself or doubting your direction. Instead, you start taking aligned actions that resonate with the future version of yourself you're becoming. The fascinating truth is that people don't invest in products; they invest in certainty—and certainty flows directly from alignment. Whether in pitch meetings, sales calls, or hiring interviews, the most compelling person in the room isn't necessarily the smartest—they're the most aligned. Clients feel it when we're embodying our true value rather than just stating it. Top talent is naturally drawn to leaders with clear vision. Investors trust founders who don't waver in the face of challenges. I'm sharing three practical ways to align your energy and actions right now: audit your calendar for integrity with your future self, ensure your marketing comes from genuine belief rather than obligation, and make decisions from alignment rather than urgency. Remember, alignment isn't fluffy concept—it's your most powerful fuel for sustainable growth. Ready to build your next chapter from alignment instead of exhaustion?
