The Priorities Podcast

However, in an attempt to simplify, we believe that the heart and core of wellness is joy. When we align ourselves with joy, then we are positioning ourselves to live a well and whole life. But in a world filled with ongoing and insurmountable stressors, demands, and responsibilities, how do we begin to prioritize, l mean like for real prioritize, who and what matters most to us? We're going to bring expertise from leading and authentic wellness voices who will share learnings inspired by real-world stories. However, know this truth– no one can answer that priority question for you, but with this podcast, we can journey WITH you to find out. Let's learn and be well together.

When Parenting Differently is a Priority

Mr. Chazz envisions a world where teachers, parents, and students wake up every day inspired to improve. He’s committed to helping parents and teachers develop their children in a less frustrating way and more enjoyable/effective for everyone. His mission is for you to be able to SEE, GUIDE, and build TRUST with children. He believes the growth journey can be enjoyable and is committed to helping parents enjoy the process! He joins Amy and Bryan on the podcast to talk about his own growth as a teacher, learning in his own way from children, parents, teachers, and the community at large. He also talks about the changes in mindset that parents want to consider going into the future. Segment One: What makes Mr. Chazz unique? [3:00] Mr. Chazz tells the story of how he went from teaching the children to teach the parents of the children.  Segment Two: The Change of all Changes [8:00] At the onset of the pandemic, Mr. Chazz was thrown into a whole new world as a teacher. He talks about how he gained more insight into children’s lives by seeing the very places they lived. He used the opportunity to innovate and find new ways to deliver his voice to others.  Segment Three: Learning from the Learners [13:00] Mr. Chazz delves into the newfound way he learned how to do his mission better, by seeing things from the perspective of the children.  Segment Four: The Lesson of all Lessons [19:00] Coined and minted as the most important lesson Mr. Chazz wants the listeners to take away; parenting is a journey, there isn’t a destination. Don’t be a perfectionist, be an improve-inist.  Segment Five: Looking Back [26:00] Mr. Chazz is asked how his methods of teaching parents reflect/compare/contrast his own upbringing. The changes aren’t just surface level, it’s about a whole new way of thinking.  Segment Six: Parenting Iteratively [37:00] Mr. Chazz draws a comparison to the generational progress of iPhones. They didn’t get it right on their first go, it improves every year. That’s the approach you want to take as a parent.  Segment Seven: How to Prioritize Time [49:00] This all comes back to time. Spending too much or not enough with our children. Quality tends to win out over quantity.  Guest Links Instagram: IG @mrchazz Podcast: Mr. Chazz’s Leadership, Parenting and Coaching Podcast Our Links Be sure to subscribe to Priorities wherever you get your podcasts so you don’t miss an episode.  This podcast is brought to you by WITH Wellness. When Your Team is a Priority

Diane Kim is a New-York based leader of People & Culture. She focuses her work on values-based start-ups & scale-ups, helping them define their DEI and social impact strategies, while setting their foundational People operations. She is passionate about transforming leaders and their people into progressive, non-conformist organizations - going from good intentions to good outcomes. Diane advocates for all People & Culture leaders like herself to re-look at the systems, processes and governing structures organizations have had in place for years.  She joins Amy and Bryan on the podcast today to discuss the new way companies are looking after the well-being of their employees for both humanity’s sake along with productivity and refinement.  Segment One: The Great Rebrand [4:00] From Diane’s background in behavioral research and psychology, she ventured into People and Culture which for a long time were referred to as human resources. The group discusses the problematic nature of referring to humans as resources. Segment Two: Leading through tough times [7:52] Corporate America is somewhat interlocked with conformity, Diane is no stranger to this as per her own background. Diane pushed herself to break from this mindset and bring her newfound ideas of nonconformity to create more progressive, forward-thinking companies. Diane talks about how this changed her perspective on leadership and dealing with tough times like having to exit employees.  Segment Three: A culture of wellness [16:48] Diane’s experience in the well-being of both the company and its employees taught her the two go hand in hand. She talks about identifying the good intentions of all involved and finding clear ways to communicate.  Segment Four: Leading by example [25:28] What Diane has put into practice is a Diversity Equity Inclusion council that meets bi-weekly. Companies would do well to consider the importance of hearing these voices among their people.  Segment Five: What is Wellness to Diane? [30:01] As a leader, Diane has to prioritize wellness for herself. She recognizes there is room for improvement, especially during these challenging times.  The Future of Work [40:00] Will work be more like France? Or will work continue to be like America? Diane talks about what the future of work, wellness and Prose looks like as trends start rolling in.  Guest Links Instagram: IG @dianejkim Website: dianejkim.net   Our Links Be sure to subscribe to Priorities wherever you get your podcasts so you don’t miss an episode.  This podcast is brought to you by WITH Wellness. When You’re Deciding To Prioritize

Michelle Florendo is a decision engineer and executive coach who is passionate about teaching people how to make decisions with less stress and more clarity. Over the past decade, she has shown hundreds of driven professionals how to use the principles of decision science to grow their impact and find fulfillment.    She joins Amy and Bryan on the podcast today to introduce Decision Engineering to us to improve our skills, understand what factors go into decisions, and assess what will become of our society as we’re inundated with more opportunities yet more uncertainty.  Segment One: What’s a Decision Engineer? [02:07]  Michelle has experienced enough dinner table conversations to know how best to describe her profession, so when asked what it is she does, she’s ready to roll.  Segment Two: What’s the Decision-Making Process?  [5:21] Everybody makes decisions, and Michelle understands the stress involved in them. She teaches our hosts and listeners the basis of decision making; it’s far more complicated than actively trying to make “good” decisions and avoid making a “bad” one.  Segment Three: How do we use emotions as data? [14:25] Emotions tend to be put to the wayside when making decisions, but not to Michelle. From her experience, emotions can serve as vital data to guide the decision-making process. The challenge is to be able to observe them rather than let them overtake the rational mind.   Segment Four: Does society have the tools to make decisions [20:10] The pandemic was a pivotal moment in history to prompt society's reconsideration. Companies are moving at a breakneck pace on a day-to-day basis, but changes are coming rapidly as well. This leads to overwhelm and paralysis.  Segment Five: How do we properly separate ourselves from our decisions? [25:09] Decisions are about what we can control and identify what we cannot. When options change so do opportunities. Segment Six: The frameworks we should know about [32:15] Along with the brilliant insights shared so far, we ask Michelle to round out where we could go next to improve our decision-making expertise. Segment Seven: The alternative to the Pro-Con list [34:35] The touchstone of decision-making has always been the pro-con list, but Michelle breaks down an alternative most would consider more attractive and less concerning.  Guest Links Podcast: askadecisionengineer.com Website: michelleflorendo.com Course (starts July 14): Decision Mapping: Make Business Decisions with Less Stress and More Clarity (stanford.edu)   LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/michelleflorendo Instagram: instagram.com/thedecisiongeek Twitter: twitter.com/thedecisiongeek Our Links Be sure to subscribe to Priorities wherever you get your podcasts so you don’t miss an episode.  This podcast is brought to you by...

    Prioritizing Me, You and Us

Meet Amy and Bryan Lattimore; co-founders of WITH Wellness, a wellness club for employees. They are married, parents of a toddler, and collectively own four businesses.  With so much going on, it seemed like the perfect time to add one more plate to spin, a show about what else? Priorities.  Join them as they embark on a journey to learn how to prioritize who and what matters most. Segment One: Prioritizing Ain’t Easy [01:57]  The ever-shifting challenges of knowing who, what and how to prioritize are what inspired (or compelled) Amy and Bryan to begin this podcast journey.  Segment Two: WTF Does Prioritizing Even Mean? [6:47] As if things weren’t hard enough, our beloved search engines just aren’t up to the task. Our co-hosts discuss the lopsided answers provided by Google and dissect what that says about society.  Segment Three: Work the Frame. Frame the Work. Gimme that Framework! [11:33] Great minds have tried to provide a roadmap for priorities whether it’s a chart, graph, or matrix. Our co-hosts discuss how well these frameworks do and that it may be time for ones more accurate to their livelihoods.  Segment Four: The Kitchen is HOT! And the Seasonal Menu is STRONG!  [19:06] Amy and Bryan have some wonderful guests on the way and here they talk about who’s being brought on the program and why.  Be sure to subscribe to Priorities wherever you get your podcasts so you don’t miss an episode.  This podcast is brought to you by WITH Wellness.
