The Problem With "Work-Life Balance"

Grow the Goodness In You

In this week's episode, I speak about our concept of "work-life balance". I propose that this suggests an inherent, unhealthy separation between work and life - that our work is ultimately just a means-to-an-end, a space to bury our heads and get through, so we can get to living on the other side of our work day. The problem is that if we assume an average 40-hour work week, work accounts for almost a quarter of our lives! So shouldn't we feel ALIVE while working?

I advocate for a culture where meaningful, aligned work is our priority, and a possibility for all of us. Yet, in understanding that may not be accessible to all of us currently, there are ways we can breathe more life into our work, namely with intention and gratitude.

If you like this episode, please do me (and us all) a favor and rate the podcast and/or share with a loved one! We each have gifts to share with the world, and this conversation might be a starting point for someone you know to find more meaningful work in their life and have a positive impact on the world around them.

With Love & Gratitude,

Quiggy
