Authentic and Real

Finally a podcast that is more concerned about human dignity v degradation rather than left v right.

Intersectional advocacy taking the prolife movement in the right direction!

I think part of why Planned Parenthood’s social media presence/advocacy is effective as it is, is because of how intersectional their rhetoric is. When they do things like publicly stand with lgbtq+ people or victims of sexual assault, and the *mainstream* (note the emphasis!) prolife movement in contrast remains publicly silent on the issues surrounding these minorities, especially the *women* of these minorities...well. All the outstanding structure and logic poured into intellectual anti-abortion talking points, and all the generosity of donations towards women’s shelters and pregnant parents, in a sense are made meaningless, as the mainstream prolife side’s very silence indeed causes one to wonder if, in our efforts to save lives from discrimination *in* the womb, do we merely doom those same lives to different kinds of discrimination *outside* of the womb?

Rehumanize International’s consistent life ethic advocacy is a very important step in the right direction for the prolife movement. I very much appreciated Herb’s references to xenophobia, transphobia, and homophobia in the 1st episode (marked as the 2nd in the podcast app for me, idk if it’s the same for others?), and the straightforward way in which he talked about the ways we consciously or unconsciously use dehumanizing language, and how he connected the inherent discrimination of abortion normalization to these other forms of discrimination. I also really appreciated the organization’s openness in talking about sexual assault/believing and having compassion for survivors thereof. I am so sorry that Aimee went through her own traumatic experience in this area, and I am very thankful for her honesty in sharing her narrative in episode 2 (3?).

Organizations like Rehumanize help me to keep believing in our cause, and they give me hope that there really are people out there who truly believe in being prolife for the WHOLE life. I hope to get more involved with organizations like them in the near future. Thank you for making this podcast. 💞🧬🎧
