1) I believe the word you're looking for in title of 11/15/24 episode is "Throes" not "Throws." Thank you. 2) Jack Fowler (10/17/24 show) referenced a hearing in the appeal of New York's property-appraisal case against President Trump. Mr. Fowler said the hearing took place in the "high court" of New York. If he's referring to the hearing on Sept 24, 2024, he's mistaken. That hearing took place in the Appellate Division, which is the mid-level appellate court. The "high court" in New York is the Court of Appeals. (For reasons too tedious to explain, the trial court, the lowest level in the hierarchy, is called, absurdly, in my view, the "Supreme Court.") Also, Mr. Fowler suggested that the Appellate Division judges were hostile to the arguments of the prosecution. Unfortunately, I believe he's mistaken on that point as well. With the exception of one judge, the questions seemed to presage the formulation of a rule to uphold the lower court's verdict, while defining limits on future (mis)application of the statute. In any case, no matter how the Appellate Division rules, the losing party will almost certainly seek review in the Court of Appeals. But the questions of the judges in my mind did not in any way suggest a (well deserved) rebuke or rejection of James' grotesque misapplication of the statute, with the possible exception, as I say, of the one judge.

My condolences for the 10 years since the death of your daughter. I had heard you mention she died of leukemia but was not aware of the details until your recent podcast. I was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia at the age of 50 four years ago and was told I was young for the diagnosis. It saddens me to know this happened to your daughter at 26.
