EP 571: Mike Merrill – Opprotunity in the Construction Industry, Finding Time to Hunt, and Grinding your way to Success.

Mike Merrill aka @michaeltmerrill is a Run, Lift, Shoot machine that secretly is a partner in a majorly successful software company in the construction industry. I’d say most people would follow Mike on social media don’t even realize that there is a whole other side to this man who is always smiling ear to ear running up the mountain to train for hunting.

In this episode we dive into the entrepreneur side of mike and talk about how he has built a massively successful business I’ll while being able to hunt and pursue his passions on the mountain.

Mike started out swinging  a hammer and when they saw a need they set out to change the industry with a tool that could save contractors millions. The problem they ran into was that the technology was possibly too early. We talk about how they have pivoted over the years and how sometime you just can’t see exactly where you are going to end up.

If you are into construction check out their podcast as well. Mobile Work Force Podcast

EP 567: Pull This Lever for Money with Sarah Weikart

Sarah Weikart is a marketing genius. There is a story about a mechanic who comes to work on a car after no one could figure out what was wrong. The mechanic simply taps a hammer one time and the car runs great. The story goes that the mechanic bills the customer for $1. Furious, the owner says how can you charge $1000 dollars when all you did was tap the hammer one time. The mechanic replies taping the hammer was $1, knowing where to tap was $999.

As many struggle with the 1 million things we should be doing in our business from and endless number of social media platforms, to email, to paid customer retargeting, knowing what to focus on is Sarah Weikarts specialty.

In this podcast we dive into how to run a marketing team of one. What to do when you don’t have giant team, and how to focus on the one thing that will move the needle the most.

Please get a new mic

Awesome podcast with great guests, but I really wish Cody would get a better quality mic. Compared to other podcasts, the sound quality is awful.

Great information

Great information and a very impressive list of guests. A humble suggestion, limit the interruptions and allow your guests to finish. That’s the only area I see for improvement.

Used to be the best

Cody Rich’s podcast is what got me hooked on outdoor podcast. (Back in 2015) he always asked such good questions and had great content. Since switching to the paid membership for the good episodes I haven’t heard hardly any good episodes for us non paying listeners. I can’t blame the guy though considering he probably spends a bunch of time podcasting. No hate but I just really wish there was still great content from him for us guys who don’t want to pay/don’t have the means to pay. Best wishes Cody.
