I love how they connect to the show to the literature yet are also open to excellence of the show filling in the gaps

I love Tolkien, and it’s so refreshing to listen to a pair of Tolkien nerds discuss this rich universe. Not only do they talk about the Rings of Power show, but they also dive deep into Tolkien lore. I learned a lot from this podcast, and I really enjoyed listening. I spent a while looking for a good podcast on this topic—it’s hard finding hosts that are balanced in their conversations. I am not a fan of listening to people complain and tear apart artistic choices or adaptations, so it was an absolute joy to find this podcast. The hosts are so thoughtful and respectful of the material, approaching topics with curiosity instead of criticism. Loved it. Great work!

I wish I had thought to look for this podcast sooner. I have learned so much and enjoyed expanding my experience of the ROP show through the knowledge and insights shared here. Whether I agree or not with a viewpoint, I always end up thinking about things in new lights and seeing things at new angles! Plus the passion for the subject is clear and appreciated. Love love love

These guys really know their Tolkien. They pick up the main themes on each weekly episode and then tie it nicely together with background and lore that regular guys like me don’t know or just can’t remember from the books. They present extremely well and do a good job of explaining pretty much everything in a clear & concise manner. My main issue is that they love absolutely everything (ok, except Kemen!). They don’t seem to have an issue with anyone or anything, would definitely have Charles Edward’s love child, and think every actor is amazing and every scene is incredible. A little objectivity would go a long way. Celebrimbor, one of the greatest elves of all time (according to Tolkien) is a weak willed and whiny person on ROP, only thinking about rings for 2 seasons, and not the city he governs….and not a comment? And Eregion, one of the largest and greatest of eleven realms seems to have a population of ooh 50 people, and defended by maybe 12 soldiers….and not a comment?? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of this podcast and a fan of ROP, but I would enjoy this even more if these excellent presenters brought a bit more objectivity out.
