If you want to listen to two people completely rag on the show Riverdale-that I’m assuming you enjoy if you want to listen to a podcast about it- this is the podcast for you. I’ve listened for over a year now, but dang, it’s sometimes infuriating to listen to. The hosts fail to ever look at storylines in a fun, good natured way. It’s Riverdale, a teen drama show...... but they tear it apart piece by piece as if it’s an artistic, Oscar award winning piece, to the point that they make the listener feel stupid if you actually enjoy plots and the show as a whole. Yes, they mention it is a “critical deep dive”, but if that’s the case, then the hosts wouldn’t forget plot points from a handful of episodes ago and then blame the show’s writers for failing to bring stories together. The shows called “Riverdale GANG”- but this does not feel like a gang but more of a pretentious look with two hosts that really don’t enjoy the show at all. This gets two stars rather than one, because I do enjoy the insight they give about certain shots of Vancouver, and the historical references. Give it a try, but don’t be surprised when you feel show-shamed.
