Very Bad Wizard ,

Small city, big politics

Robert Burns is riding the coattails of traitors and bigots. He purports to oppose bullies and constantly praises the our country’s most notorious bully: Trump. He claims to be a Christian conservative yet refuses to live by that ethical code. He uses his many social media presences to belittle and denigrate the most vulnerable of minority communities. He throws his support and admiration behind adulterers, thieves, criminals, and liars. He also uses his office for his personal agenda of inspiring some sort of spiritual revival with him as its anointed leader. Monroe, for many years after the the civil rights era struggles that marred its legacy, had been shielded from the corrosive national political battles that make politics so difficult. But no more. Burns had intentionally stocked these long dead fears and hatred and pointed them directly at the LGBTQIA community to further his career. It’s shameful and disgraceful of the office he so holds. We at Change for Monroe will work to make sure his tenure is brief and his damage is minimal.

Garbage

Robert Burns won his election literally by a coin toss. He is an egotistical, racist bigot who only looks out for his own interests. He allows no communication with his constituents, turning off comments on social media posts and disabling messaging. He does everything in his power to eliminate the LGBTQ+ community of Monroe, even video recording people using the bathrooms during Union County Pride and harassing them about what bathroom HE thinks they should be using. He has eliminated the use of Monroe’s public spaces for ALL residents, just to keep Union County Pride out. He protests at Monroe’s own businesses when he doesn’t like them (signs on the sidewalk and all), instead of looking out for Monroe’s economic health and growth. He constantly breaks and bends the rules by taking advantage of his position, only changing plans when he is (always) called out by the citizens he’s supposed to be fairly representing. He is a cry baby who whines and complains when he doesn’t get his way, even when it happens because his Council votes to do the right thing. He runs his position solely based on his own religious faith, completely alienating all other religions. He has no concept of the separation of church and state, nor does he understand many governmental concepts as shown by his countless social media posts full of misconceptions, conspiracies, completely incorrect statements, and outright lies. He DOES NOT represent anyone other than those EXACTLY like him! He is a plague upon Monroe and a disgrace to the position of mayor! #changeformonroe

Trump Wannabe

You have no clue what you’re doing, and you’re making the citizens of Monroe look bad. Why don’t you go back to trying to be a preacher since you’re so holier than thou? You can flip a coin to find a church that agrees with your bigoted, misogynistic and homophobic views, I’m sure!
