The Rock Fight – not just another outdoor or adventure podcast; it's a full on rebellion. We’re here for those inside and outside the outdoor industry. Outdoorsy listeners who are tired of the same worn-out paths.

UTMB vs Gary Robbins: Inside An Ultramarathon Turf War
Today on THE ROCK FIGHT (an outdoor podcast that aims for the head) journalist Kyle Frost returns to talk about the big battle that happened in the ultra and trail running community this past fall when UTMB stepped in and usurped local BC running legend and race director Gary Robbins and one of his more popular events, the Whistler Alpine Meadows 100.
The kerfuffle creates an interesting question about the growth and future of ultramarathons as bigger entities like UTMB (who have partnered with Ironman) and Vail make moves in a space known for it's grassroots and community based events.
Kyle covered this situation in his newsletter and on his website and today he sits down with Colin to dig into it further.

What's The Deal With Bode Miller's New Ski Brand?
Today on THE ROCK FIGHT (an outdoor podcast that aims for the head) Adam Jaber from the Out Of Collective makes his return to THE ROCK FIGHT to help Colin dig into Bode Miller's new brand, Peak Skis.
Peak Skis have been making a lot of waves in the outdoor and ski industries. Billed as "the next evolution in ski design" Peak is the new brand from Olympic skier Bode Miller that anyone can invest in due to their crowd sourcing initiatives. But they also are constantly running deep discounts on existing inventory and come with a premium price tag.
So Colin asked brand and retail ski expert Adam Jaber to return to the show and talk about Peak's products, their push into the ski space and how they will likely fair in an overly crowded market.

The Outdoor Industry Is A Trillion Dollars: So What?
Today on THE ROCK FIGHT (an outdoor podcast that aims for the head) it's a breakdown of the new report that says Outdoor Recreation in the United States carries an economic impact of $1.1 trillion.
Two weeks ago the Bureau of Economic Analysis released a report showing that outdoor recreation impacts the United States economy to the tune of a trillion dollars.
But what is in this report? Is it all hiking boots and fishing poles? It's much more complex than that however most folks have been happy to celebrate the number and move on...but not journalist Kyle Frost who did an in depth breakdown of the report in his newsletter and on his website.
Today Kyle returns to THE ROCK FIGHT to talk about what's in the report, the impact it will have on the outdoor industry and community and the lackluster response to the report by the outdoor media.

I love this podcast! I worked in the outdoor industry my entire career until I moved abroad last year to raise a couple of wild kiddos. This podcast is made up of smart, snarky, sweet, outdoor goodness that is so relatable and fun. It keeps me in the know on what’s going on with outdoor brands, staying true (and laughing) at yourself while raising kids, and the outdoor industry as a whole. The host is awesome and the guests and conversations are on point. 10/10
